If having a massive battle where everyone is an outlaw sounds boring to you, I don't know what to say.

ghost69 on 03/07/2012, 07:03 PM

Took the words right out of my mouth...yea you may see it as a huge cluster %@$@ i see it as a huge epic battle where everyone (unless in a party) is your enemy and you fight to be the last one(s) standing.

Why not just do guild wars or battle grounds if you want everyone to just fight each other? It's basically what you're suggesting.

Yeah, that is what I'm suggesting.

Then what would the be the point to even having the outlaw system in place? You already have the options available for your basic free for all PvP. The outlaw system, as it is, allows for another dynamic, this one more centered on the push/pull relationship between PKers, their targets, and the PKKers.

I don't want an outlaw system, I want everyone "flagged" for PvP at all times, but I am not dumb enough to think that is going to happen. However, I am okay with the current changes as they are a neat compromise.

Um. Everyone is flagged for PvP at all times. They can be engaged at anytime, by anyone, after lvl 11. The outlaw system just indicates who the aggressor is and lets people lvl next to each other (out of party) with out unintentionally damaging each other.

I mean, I can walk up to another player, without pushing any buttons at all, and kill them.

When someone flags red, everyone around kills them. Having complete open FFA PvP is drastically different than what we have imo.

Does the system discriminate between a higher level killing a lower level outlaw who is trying to kill someone? Would this make me have to look the other way in order to avoid a debuff, or will it act as the way it does now and only effect the current outlaw?

Also, as a healer, I worry about avenues that one could exploit to avoid any consequence. Such as being a max level priest healing a group of lowbie outlaws running around ganking other players similar to their level. An odd senario, perhaps, but I still think healing a groupmember flagged as an outlaw should stack on not only the healer, but the group as a whole to discourage things like this.

You can kill people who are red without penalty, no matter the level.

Um. PKing 101, don't try and kill someone if they're surrounded by people who will jump to their defense.

See your point and agree, but not possible in this type of game due to mechanics. Lvling would just be a nightmare after lvl 11 because most attacks seem to have an aoe affect and as funny as it would be for someone to accidentally be killed because they got too near another player, it would get old and navigating around other players while trying to lvl would get annoying.

no, the real problem is people bringing healers that are 6-7 levels lower than them to heal them while they PK... because if you have a hard time killing the kid w/ heals on him - you're either forced to flag and kill the lowbie healer, or suck it up/die/run.
