Lmao. no. DAOC was driven by PvP and the reward system. The main drive of a player in a RPG is to make your character better and stronger.. which my suggestion would accomplish.
People will still continue to PvP because they enjoy the competition and challenge. Your overjustification concept doesn't apply to every situation. Would you claim a paycheck given to a professional athlete decreases his satisfaction of the game and leads to his retirement? Give me a break. He started playing in the first place because he enjoyed the game.
if a reward is introduced, that will overshadow and decrease the inherent drive to pk, which would decrease the amount of satisfaction pks receive while pking and therefore which would cut down on pking in general
