Yeah, red name declaring bs is really wack.
We should be able to target whoever we want and just attack them unless they are grouped with us.
We should only get the red name of shame if we kill someone low lvl.
In otherwords you are only an outlaw when you comit the crime not before it.
PVP should be something everyone is able to do without penalities until they commit a crime.
OUTLAW system currently is bogus and harmful to the game.
i am hoping they can find a better way to modify the pvp ruleset.
Imo a decent idea would be to have no outlaw declare but have everyone be white but if you do dmg to someone you turn red to them.
This then makes it so they see who is "aggressive" towards them and it also makes it so to anyone else its two whites fighting, but still allows people to attack either or both.
This isn't perfect because you can try to help that person and end up killing both since most people have cleaves/aoes etc. Maybe make it so you can't initiate pvp with an aoe or w/e to make it so big aoes dont hit everyone unless you are "red" to them
If they can find a way to limit FF since the "real action" component has a ton of aoe and cleave to the point it would just be annoying in a busier area.
Current outlaw is just tooo bad clunky and tacky since it is dumb to have a group of people run up and then stand next to you then go red and start attacking.
What about this? Keep the outlaw declaration (So you don't bash someone by error) but your name stays white.
If you engage someone, you turn red to them.
If you kill lowbies, you turn red to everyone.
I would agree the flagging needs to be removed on PvP servers. If you want to have an Outlaw status still for killing lowbies, make their names a different color.
I'm really confused, what is everyone's problem with red name declaration? You want to permanently be able to attack others? Just go kill some lowbies real quick and go perma-red. I'll agree the casting thing was annoying and the cast animation sucked, but there already is an in-game solution.
You want to be able to attack anyone at any time, right? Well, perma red solves that. Seriously, what are the negatives...? Maybe you have a conciense and feel bad about tanking some, lvl 12s killing faeries, well, just do it a few times, and you're set for awhile. Or just declare red in a lowbie zone and kill those foolish enough to attack before checking your level. Then you don't have to feel bad about ganking?
Honestly, no idea what peoples problem with going perma red is.
Why most who go red will not go perma-red?
Its easier to gank when you are white and can change to red then it is when you are red all the time.
I think what they want is a more efficient way to catch someone off guard. The way the system is now you have to flag yourself for PvP. Your riding along, not flagged at this point, and you see someone killing mobs. They ignore you because you are blue. In plain sight you dis mount and flag for PvP. If they win the fight they go sit in a safe zone until they can unflag. They want to be able to just run up on someone and kill them without them ever knowing what happened until they are dead. They want to catch people off guard while in a grp of 3-5 and then talk trash about how bad the one they killed is in /A chat. That their definition of PvP.
