Scared to experiment?? Yeah because they might have something to lose..like lets say a couple million dollars. You on the other hand have nothing to lose. "over 100,00" people waiting to play it, i call B.S. That is a number pulled completely out of your butt. Prove it. Show me where there is this massive amount of "hardcore pvpers". They don't exist. Once again if there was that many ppl just waiting on the sideline to play a pvp game, someone would of made it. The bottom line is you see what Tera is, you've played what Tera is and you say you don't like it. Move on, delete your account, cancel your preorder and go to the next "great white of a hope game you think will be awesome but in the end you will just [filtered] about". Better yet, go raise a couple million dollars (like about 30+) and put your experiment to the test. I won't hold my breath for you.

I guess you didn't know but the father of all MMO's..UO in case your too ignorant to know that game... had 300,000 people playing it when it was popular. And have you ever heard of Darkfall Online? Delete my account? Scared of what the old school gamers might do to you? Scared of real competition huh?

Seriously stop the rage... nobody wants you to pass out from all that blood rushing to your head.

UO was as you put it the father of mmos. There was not much else to play. And 300k would be considered a fail mmo in this world of 1+ million subs. Darkfall was a complete failure. It was crap from the beginning. And finally..scared of real competition? You'll just quite this game and then complain how you played it back in the day when it was "good" but it wasn't "hardcore" enough for you so you moved on. Then as I said you will troll some other new game that comes out, saying only if they do what you say will the game be awesome. In the mean time, no one will listen to you or care and the world will move on. Seriously this game is DONE, if you don't like how it is, quit now and save us the complaining...

Yes there wasn't much else to play back then, but when UO's population dwindled super fast was trammel when they started to make the game easier. Your right it wouldn't be considered a success in todays environment, but we aren't trying to get an entire MMO made for us.. just one server. Darkfall was a failure because of other things (there skill system) not because it was catered to hardcore players. Lets not forget Lineage 2, it had FFA PvP and looting enabled.

If this game was done it wouldn't still be in beta, nor would Dev's be asking for our input. I never said anywhere I didn't like this game. I enjoy it or I wouldn't be here, but I think this would improve what I enjoy about TERA quite a bit.

If you don't agree with us in this thread, we are sorry to hear that. But unless you have something constructive to say on the topic, your opinion has been noted many times over. So please stop wasting our time and allow us to actually discuss what we would like to see on a server set like this, rather then get into a meaningless argument with yourself.

Lineage 2 did not have loot, you could drop sometimes in the past if you died(percent chance). Later on you had to be red and have more than 5 pks. Now you have to be red with 30+ pks. Lineage 2 pk systems was and is very restricted to lower lvls as its very bad to pk at lower lvls. At higher lvl, the penalty is easy to work off. Also lineage 2 now has bound items that can't drop, so they made it a lot easier than it was.
the things that this game doesn't need is dungeons you can port to without leaving a safe zone, friendly fire, loot of any kind and gate hopping mechanics such as guards not doing a damn thing to red players. Some of the ideas you and other bring up are simply not possible without recoding the game. Hell if you want a wish list of options i'll throw in sieges and territory wars, but thats not gonna happen.
The best thing the developers could do is make the politics in the game mean something in a big way to make the pvp mean something. I don't want counterstrike-fantasy version. I want Lineage 3...

Looting was the wrong word with Lineage 2. Item drop was the correct word. The reason I even used L2 is because it is a harder game. Not easy mode like WoW or RIFT. It had systems that catered to a hardcore player base.

Friendly Fire won't work in this game. I didn't read the initial post as friendly fire, I read it as FFA (my mistake). Friendly Fire just will not work in this game as much as I would like it too. There is just to much AoE and splash damage. You are correct, we don't need dungeon porting. I think partial loot would complement TERA's systems quite nicely. I agree I think guards should attack Red players, but would need to implement outlaw camps for them, since progression would stop if you didn't. They wouldn't be able to turn in quests/accept quests. FFA is easy to implement the systems are already there. Its simple taking that numeral and setting it to 0 probably to allow everyone to be flagged at all times.

Sieges and Territory wars. I would love that. I think that is the extra spice the Political system really needs.

You must have made a mistake there sir, I think you meant it would be a ghost town server where they probably won't make much profits from. =P

Developers are weird sometimes,
TERA going to have so many useless server yet they cant implement 1 server with this ruleset? WOW!

IF" EnMasse ever make this server, they will seriously have alot of player coming and try out old and new gamers. ALOT of PEOPLE are actually waiting for this kind of PVP (new game) and with this combat its a [filtered] bonus for sure.

I'd like this ruleset also, but it wont work in tera since it wont have many players to begin with, and with so many NA care bears i doubt it will happen anyway,
plus with the BG taking out for sometime after release, they MIGHT take out PVP overall. Lol

@Common, please go to the server you want to play on dont bother posting here,
this is for people who wants this "SERVER" if you dont want it go play on the server you want to play, its simple lol. (PVE server) example serpent isle and the other pve server and many more to come after release.Stop wasting forum bandwidth

Do people take the mechanics of the game into account when they think of ideas, or do they just push for a few things they liked in some other game without considering the consequences?

Also, I love reading about how many "hardcore" PvPers there are just waiting to pounce on this game. You aren't fooling EME.

Hey plz read my post before you speak up that i need to go to a pve server. How do you thing i know so much about L2? I played it for 6 years on retail up to about 2 months ago. I never made a character on a pve server here in Tera, and i don't cry about ganking or other stupid crap. Your comment betrays your bias to just saying anyone that doesn't agree with you belongs on a pve server(ie carebear).

Shut up carebear!

No but really stop arguing that someone shouldn't be able to post about an idea they have. They are asking for another option, not to change what you will play on. If there is a hardcore server you can still play on the normal pvp server.

There are a lot of people that enjoy this game but are slightly let down with the PvP system. I understand the fighting for the sake of fighting but when there is something on the line in PvP it makes the game a lot more intense.
