Unfortunately, open-world pvp is killing the pvp servers, here's why.
Issue #1: Events to things like Invasions are not available.
Basically a PVP guild nuked the northern entrance when an invasion was going on, so anyone who stepped out died. People were dying 10 per second. Invasions are supposed to be about team work and server unification. Instead it was a trap for gankers and trolls to just sail on by and reap all the people just trying to have fun
Solution: Make OWPVP closed during an event in that area.
ISSUE #2: Low lvls are hopeless
Without a higher level to protect them, they are hopeless to protect themselves. Players are free to spawn kill them over and over, I cant do my quest because they stand there and guard it. I know this is OWPVP but the problem is, they do not suffer a penalty for it. The low levels are screwed because
1. They are not strong enough to defend themselves
2. They are too poor to hire a body guard
3. There's no bounty board
4. No one is willing to take time to hunt gankers
5. Gankers few penalities for ganking
Solution: Give heros more incentives to kill gankers, or make it more risky for gankers to hunt noobs I.E : more noobs you kill, the more gold/armor/ranking you lose if you die (to lower the risk you have to stop ganking and let the meter go back down)
ISSUE #3: Lock on DPS
Wasn't this game based on skill? Target locking is like using your mouse to click on a target WoW style. With one hit targeting kills low levels cant even dodge attacks. Healing lock on is okay.... but DPS lock on? BAD BAD BAD...
Solution: Get rid of DPS lock on
ISSUE #4: Gankers can go into safe zone (No good reason to un-due outlaw status)
Sure outlaws get penalites if they die, but they are far from enough. Gankers dont get assaulted by NPC law enforcement, and they can get into safe zones. Whats the point of not being an outlaw ganker? You benefit more from ganking than helping others that are ganked.
Solution: Give people more reason to hunt gankers.
Ganking is not good, it never was, never is. Its not pvp when someone can die in an instant lock on kill. its no longer player vs player.... its player instantly kills player. May the best target lock on win... :(
