Just hoppin around youtube and came upon a video of lvl 60 PvP in K-Tera. It's Kamelyn aka Socio.

Quote from comment section: "Gear is part of it, yes. But for instance I have 23% dmg reduction in the gear I'm in and 13% bonus dmg. They're in tier 13 +12 weapons while we were all only tier 12. However, Mystic + Priest buffs AND crit scrolls, cd reduction pots and pvp dmg (or dmg reduction) pots with all those buffs is just insane."

I really hope they level out Gear and buffs. It should give you an edge but at what point should 2 people of equal level take such drastic difference in dmg?

I agree. Stat weight will make or break Tera for me. What's the point of True Action if it still comes down to gear?

You seem to be looking for a fps. Battlefield is a great one I can recommend. MMOs have gear which sets people apart.

That's understandable. I've played mmos for a while now, FFxi, WoW, SWtor, GW etc. It's not that I hate gear etc, I want a fantasy free action much like this, I just don't want stat weight to get out of hand much like it has on WoW versus how it used to be.
The reasoning for this is the strong get stronger and the weak get weaker in comparison as tiers come out, but they're typically held to the same bracket. Plus this ensures whoever plays the most is the "better" player, which isn't really how it should be in my personal opinion. You're right, based on what I want it sounds like MMOs arent what I want, but it is. You've gotta break the chain some time... I'm not asking for it to go away, just be less of a jump.

I think stats should play some roll, and the sad part about that is if the players are equally or close to equally skilled, the player with the better stats should win most of the time. When it comes down to it, after a couple months of playing/equal time most people will be about the same skill, unless one guy just doesn't care/is bad in general. So in the end game pvp, better items/buffs will be what wins in the end UNLESS one side screws up and the other side takes advantage of it.

You guys thought that Tera was a true "skill" based MMO? It's a gear grinding PVE themepark MMO. What part of that makes you think, "OMG GOOD PVP!"

gears HUGE in TERA. plain and simple. and with practically no dungeon lockout timers, its not like players will get a piece or 2 a week and PvP in between lockouts. most will be in dungeons day in and day out until theyre extremely geared.

Reminds me of the ridiculous consumable stacking that was in SWTOR before they removed it.

Scoundrels were using 3 PvP buffs at once and doing like 500% more damage to players, winning 3v1s with ease.

Yeah...
