To all those who support Open PvP!

The European and North American versions of TERA have taken incredible initiative concerning player versus player for this particular MMO. We've been waiting for TERA a long time now, and many of us were probably very skeptical and still on the fence due to the Korean version's current and previous PvP rules. First it was the controversial timer count-down, and than it was the outlaw system that punished PK'rs statistically and required a level-capped player to even utilize. We really have to applaud and thank western development for not only lowering the level requirement of the outlaw system, but also removing the statistic penalties completely during the closed BETA process.

Let's keep this in mind though, these settings are subject to change, and will be attacked relentlessly by care-bears and whiners who don't agree with them. They're complaints will be voiced much more frequently, and louder, than our quiet satisfaction and approval. I've seen it happen to countless MMO's, and those of us that support these settings and want them to remain well beyond the closed BETA period, have to voice our support and approval as often as we can.

TERA will become the first true action MMO! We've already witnessed the difference in combat the unique control scheme TERA uses brings to the table, and with the new outlaw system on top of that, we may be looking at one of the best PvP MMO's in a long time. Not to mention the end-game political system, and future possibilities like outlaw gear (my little suggestion right there), we can't let care-bears and whiners ruin these settings for us like they have in so many other previous titles.

Those of you who support Open PVP, please let your voices be heard during CBT-2!!!!!

*unseathes sword* to arm by brothers! waaaaaaaarrrghh!!!!!!!!!

no, but seriously now, you're right, we should not stay quiet and let the carebears whine about the system and get it changed. this cannot happen again!!

In before "Just post in the other threads."
Why?
So our posts can be lost in the sea of incoming PvEers trying to get their gear with zero of the intended hassles? No thanks.
I say we make a new thread on this subject every dang hour until the Devs are forced to respond.

Tera has a LONG way to go before even flirting with the title of "one of the best PvP MMOs in a long time." We need a pvp server with the following to make such a claim:

1. Some sort of asset/territory control to allow for large scale, open world pvp and a political metagame.

2. Accountability

3. All gear should be craftable with resources obtained out in the open world in order to promote open world pvp. There should not be any sort of required BG grind to obtain pvp gear.

4. There should be no dungeon finder type system(especially one that incorporates multiple servers) that ports players directly to an instance.

5. Player corpses should be lootable. I know many can't handle full loot so I would suggest partial loot(backpack only) or at the very least, a GW2 system in which players can drop items on death just like a mob but don't lose their own gear.

...and that's only a start. The likelihood that any of this would make it in at release is virtually zero. I doubt it'll ever happen to be honest and that's why there will be a mass exodus of pvpers in a few months just like in every other recent MMO. We're going to hit max level and realize it's getting pretty stale without any real tangible goals or solid pvp end-game.

I'd like to see this game end up having a really fleshed out pvp rule set that many of us have been craving since the end of Shadowbane but I'm a realist/cynic.

I agree with you, completely on all of your points. That's why I said MAY, and that's why we need MORE input from players who enjoy PvP to really mold this game into what it should become. We need MORE posts like yours!

IF the Dev's really want this game to succeed they will sticky that list on their wall and make it happen.
