my prob was a many guilds iniatated gvg on us and i welcome it as we are a pvp guild but prob was most would sit in towns or run to camps and they were same level or right within a few....something def needs to be done cause that does not promote pvp

if your in gvg with a guild there should be NO safe zone not even towns or main cities....THATS PVPGVG

my second biggest problem was the amount of bad players who force log while pvping....i didnt gank anyone or lowbies....many tried to gank me or our parties and we did die one time but then came back and wiped them cause i was on a BAM the first time but when i came back to wipe them 2 of there last players force logged out of the game by Xing out there client and after that i noticed many players would do this to avoid a death

i have no reason as to why cause you lose no points or weapons or armor upon death and you MIGHT lose a crystal which is no big deal so why be so afraid and cowardess at pvp to have to resort to a force log

force logging should be not allowed or make the character still stay in game for next 30 secs if they force log so people can finish them off....that will make it so they dont even bother to force log

I have played MMOs since I was about 11 years old (I am now 21). My first MMO was RuneScape (trolls and flamers are welcome; I thoroughly enjoyed my first experience). Of all the MMOs I have played this game has had the most promising, skill/ timing based combat system I have seen so far. Not only do you have to be precise with your clicking, but you have to know when to use what skills and punish your enemies. Some of the most exciting PvPing is when there's a thrill of putting a bounty over your head for being a ruthless murderer, or the excitement of losing all your loot to a single, inopportune death. Fighting at a dungeon entrance is also one of the best kinds of PvP. As long as they don't bring their level-capped characters and one shot you. Anything that brings people together/encourages them to open world PvP I 100% support and would love to see. Uninstanced, balanced open world PvP is what most of us here have sought and are hoping to see. Of course, instanced PvP is also nice, but it doesn't always have the same merit of world PvP.

If the devs listen to our suggestions here, I will go neckbeard mode over this game. You'll have my money AND my life.

I like most of the ideas expressed in this thread, and love the idea of encouraging OWPVP. I know it sounds like an offense or attack against those that oppose these ideas, but isn't this the whole reason there are different server types?

My humble contribution to the discussion:

I like all of PVPAdvocate's ideas, except for full/partial loot. In truth, I like this idea as well, I just don't think that the game could support this model, from a development standpoint. At least, not easily. I like they idea of some type of PVP loot items to access (through purchase or crafting) PVP items. Whether that means actual gear, crystals, or consumables is a matter of game balancing.

Also, to help generate the rivalry type relationship with players (which I, too, experienced and loved in DF), a player specific, "nemesis" debuff or marker could be placed on the person/s who got the kb for 10/20/30/60 minutes to give bonus/better loot drops if killed by the player they recently killed.

Incorporating some type of outlaw system behind the PVP would be entertaining. I am fairly new to TERA and what is in the Korean rollout, so forgive me if I sound/am ignorant. Instead of stat reductions, though, it would be more of a social status. Killing x "innocent" players earns you outlaw status, killing x more earns you a more hated status and so on. Being in a hated status keeps you out of certain "lawful" (non-essential) locations due to guard reaction. Then incorporate outlaw locations, which these and "lawful" locations can operate as guild hubs. Anyone considered an outlaw can pay to reduce their hated status, or grind out quests at "penitentiary" quest hubs. There could also be a balanced reward system, offered from the outlaw/lawful hub, for killing lawfuls/outlaws, respectively.

If such things are considered by EME/BHS, it might also be worth adding another server type, to tier PVP rules: PVE--> PVP--> PVP[forrealztho].

Some things suggested in this thread (and my post) would be relatively easy to implement, while others pretty much require building a whole new game. Just voicing my opinions on what would be fun to see.

Either way, the game is fun as is, and I fully intend to play this game far too much. It would be neat to see some things added to make OWPVP a little richer/more entertaining, though.

PS: These suggestions would only apply to OWPVP. Looting/hate/debuff/etc. would not be "turned on" in instanced PVP.

Need to add a debuff when you engage on PvP, you can't enter the safezone, to avoid Safezone exploit wtih ranged classes.
Same for whoever heals a target in pvp on the safezone, gets the debuff too.

i think the current system could work but i was having issues hitting back people who were outlawed for some reason. Personally i like lineage 1's system of PvP where you had Chaotic score if you killed people who did not flag back you went red, then if you died while red you could drop items weather you where killed by people or mobs and also you couldn't go into towns while red cause the guards would try to kill you. It deterred people from killing lowbies because there was no reward and too much of a risk to drop great items. If you were gonna go red you wanted a good reason to do it. the PvP was still crazy because of rivalries and sieges or fights over who got to kill certain bosses and a ton of random PvP the keyword being actual PvP where one player fought another player not where one player one shots someone who doesn't fight back. You could kill lowbies if you wanted but there just wasn't a reason to do it.

It's funny how some people actually believe TERA is the first action MMO.
