Balanced ranges? Nope.

Elin has the shortest range and human sized hitbox.
Testing confirms this.

Baraka Lancer can hit from 12m out!

looking at this again, you've totally misinterpreted it, the first picture in each set shows where he starts from, and the baraka starts 4.5 meters infront of the line, and the elin is on the line. they both just hit the flinch range, hence no damage numbers. so this shows that the elin hits from 4.5 meters further away.

The Baraka is not given a distance compensation that is the area his natural resting state consumes.

Ellin has negative because the natural resting state area is smaller, Elin is given compensation for this factor and put on the line.

The first image is showing Elin in natural resting state and has negative distance due to size.

Rramza, quit argueing with him. He thinks he's right and that everyone else is wrong. So it'll get nowhere.

that doesnt even make sense, look at the whole article. he shows two lines, the start and the end line.

he measures their distance from the start line in the left pic and the distance of their back foot from the end line in the right pic.

the baraka starts 4.5 meters INFRONT of the line, the elin starts ON the line? how hard is this to understand? theres a video and pictures proving this and you still want to deny it... why? this doesn't make the game better in any way...

this is further illustrated by the fact that the first picture measures the distance for them to miss the baraka priest target, and the second illustrates where they have to stand to make contact with the priest and flinch him.

Google translation from Korean to English:

A series of four attacks a prostitute just push slightly forward while riding in a straight line is a stinging attack.

Er.....what?

I like how instead of trying to understand facts and math you want to use a straw-man argument to discredit me

Also if you look at,

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xT5p1rN4Xi0&list=UUUzj5q3v-6umt_NOCR709Ng&index=5&feature=plcp

you can see the producer of Tera talking about hitboxes being normalized and the fact that the smaller classes have a more piercing downward strike whereas the larger classes have a wide arcing swing.

Yeah, going by what the developer said, the attack ranges of all the characters are the same, masked behind various animations. But he freely admits that the smaller races like popori and elin are going to be harder to hit, with the trade-off of also being harder to target for healing.

So from what I understand this means is that an Elin is going to appear to hit from further away, since they leap forward. But the Baraka will be able to hit from the same distance because they're so freakin huge that their attack actually starts closer.

So pretty much because of that leap forward the Elin/popori DOES effectively have longer range attacks.

They don't, but people are going to believe whatever they want.

If you think Elin has the most range they have the most range.
If you think Baraka has the most range they have the most range.

Whatever helps people sleep at night. ;p
