Balanced ranges? Nope.

Wow it doesn't even make sense! The smallest race with the shortest arms have the longest reach? What?

The extra movement can be good or bad depending on the circumstances, but the Baraka still has a huge advantage regarding blocking damage for teammates...which is the Lancer's intended role.

nothing about baraka makes it take less damage, the only thing it can do is body block really. but the effectiveness of this in pvp or pve is almost non-existant. people can just go around you or dodge through you.

not saying you can never do it, but it's not as useful as it seems. having half the attack range isnt worth it. it's a shame really cause i dont want to be an elin, i wanna be a big guy. but im gonna have to get myself a race change if they have no plans on fixing this.

it's also compounded by the fact that elins have a faster taunt animation as a lancer. they honestly seem to be the best lancer race, period. which is silly because their physical build doesnt support this, nor does their lore.

How do you know this? Sorry, ^^ could you explain to me? I'm not familiar with CBT5 and I was wondering how you deduced that this is from CBT5

Video was uploaded April 10th and it was the English language client. Pretty easy to deduce that it's impossible to be the OBT, and even if it were an older CBT, it would still be a just as, if not older client version. CBT5 is just the most likely since they were all level 1 test characters on a video uploaded after the end of CBT 4 and shortly after the start of CBT 5 on April 6th.

Understood.

Silly me. ^^

I'd like to also point out that not many healers will like being around Elin Lancers.

The Elin have a longer reach because they jump. My cat can jump on top of a refrigerator. I cannot, though I have bigger stronger legs. Lets not even go in to how an Elin holds a lance in the first place :)

as i have said before, the size thing barely effects healing. most healers say they dont even notice it. i've never heard a single one complain about healing elin. lock on heals are much easier to tag with than normal attacks and aoes arent effected by hitbox at all. seeing as these are the only ways someone can heal you, its really a non issue.

As a Healer, yes the smaller races are tad harder to heal. Especially in a group of folks, not too much it might make a huge difference (for lancers). Sometimes it is a second though as a bigger/other person got in the way of the target.

On BAMs/Bosses it's not a big deal because most of the DPS is in the back though.

As to the reach Elin/Popori reach, you can move out of the way of an Elin and Popori attack far easier and evade chains. Where as, the Baraka and Amani hit you and have wider arcs.

Enjoy.

evidence to support your claims that its easier to move out of the way and avoid chains?

Video uses the old client evo1 or something which is like pre queen of argon patch so it isn't that reliable. We are getting evo2 client on release which should be the promised normalization of hitboxes and hit ranges. If you didn't know already, evo2 apparently fixes archer's mana regen rates from what I heard because in evo1 it didn't scale and in evo2 it scales to your lvl which should improve archer dps quite a bit.

I just tried an elin slayer and a human male slayer.

Elin had range of 10-11 meters on both knockdown and overhand strike.

The human male had around 10 on knockdown but was something like 7-8 with overhand.

Dont just look at where their feet end up or what it looks like your sword is doing, try hitting a mob and see how far out you can be and still connect with the skill.
