So essentially what was shown here with elin was nothing more than fear, intolerance, and assumptions.

BTW ... that organization runs Anime Expo in LA which I try to attend every year and is also the biggest anime expo in the US. So the source is very legitimate for anyone who wants to question it.
EME isn't going after the anime market because they know the anime market will come to Tera regardless of whether or not EME goes after it, and they'll come whether or not the elin are censored (and uncensored elin didn't do a thing to save Tera in eastern markets).
Other parts of the NA market would look unfavorably upon uncensored elins. Ergo, EME censored it.
Want to make a strong argument here? Bring concrete proof that EME has lost tens of thousands of sub numbers due to the censoring of elins.
It amazes me that we see tons of complaining by elin fans and very, VERY little action in the way of acquiring proof that would further aid the anti-censorship argument.
Mala actually made the most effort I think I've ever seen by rounding up 150 names of people who supposedly dislike the changes, though it's ultimately not compelling because it's only 150 people and not all 150 of them are even posting here.
Get another petition going and this time, try to get more than 256 signatures.

I would have sponsored elin for TERA NA at that expo. But after it was handled the way it was, I would have to say no.
When TERA was first coming out it was the anime communities that heard of it first. We saw K-TERA, we saw the combat, saw the elin, saw the game.
It blew our minds away. We loved it. I remember when a bunch of anime websites were anticipating about this game and talking about it. Some of them went to try out the BETA's during JP as well too. Promoting it, promoting TERA.
Then came the stupid, stupid censorship and everything for TERA went down hill then. The very fans who were the first ones of TERA to have support the game have been given the most ridiculous crap i've seen to the point that the ugly "Add-ons" look horrendous upon inspection and now their glitching in the dye system. Clippings, over-thick rings at the bottom, just all around amateur.
'We'll trade in our hard-core, loyal fans that been tracking Tera since K-Tera for WoW players and general audience, we'll continue to gut the game until it's westernized!'
Is basically what comes down to it. Fans who liked anime were hassled by trolls and ignoramus who've never stepped outside their pizza-box covered WoW obsessions of mmo standards. Then the people who shouldn't even be playing video-games throwing up their double-standard 'morals' for fictional characters yet had no complaints how castanic clothes were nearly falling apart off chest and bottoms.
Those fans ended up being hated on then ditched by EME. TERA NA got screwed up before it's release, and this company has already established it's bad reputation. Who wants to play a game when your just going to get your threads locked and treated like a "minority" when the game itself was centered and created around that media culture?
So much arrogance and cockyness it's unbelievable.

Control yourself, looks like when you see an Elin thread you get in a frenesi and make one-page posts one after another.

Not entirely true. The anime market isn't set in stone. Other wise all korean games would thrive and be very very popular. Take Nexon for example. Great games. However they do so many thing wrong they lose their player base, which was mainly anime fans. They shut down the game, and bring in a new one. Why do you think Korean Nexon has like nearly 15 - 20 games while NA Nexon has like 8.
If EME loses their anime base, they may end up with a player base not large enough to sustain keeping it up and they may ultimately fail in the US market. EME can make their game thrive no matter what, by pleasing the anime base, since that is going to be their larger player base. Why take the chance?
As I said, I already know many people who will not play it simply because it's to "animeish" or because it is korean.
So you tell me which player base to cater to would be the smarter choice?

The Anime markets are going to be *less* compelling to play Tera after they've see how this went down. They already know about the censorship, but if it feels like one *group* is being concentrated on with trolls, ignorance, disregarded by the company, and hated on by bigots they'll be less likely to support this game Not saying that some *won't* but reputation has already been established here.
You remember how much hate was spewed on these forums to the people who even asked for "quality" changes? That's already been spread to other mmo-websites about how elin and the players were trashed over here.
A petition at this point would not work. There were multiple petitions and they were all dismissed. There is only one thing left to do, simply not to support the game in it's "Westernized" state.
Remember the pet-shop thread as well? People posted polls and threads for that and it's going to be shot-down regardless cus player-feedback(the ones who are paying to play) obviously doesn't matter and focus groups do? EU has already removed pets, so defiantly EME will have them perma-removed too. That's why the thread has been silent and EME hasn't responded with an official announcement (*hinthint*). The same thing that's been done to elin, is now being done to the rest of the game.
Every non-western aspect out of the game will be purged till it's watered down with less content in the end.
As a NA player I would be worried about the crap-mass amount of bugs that will pop up and delays because now this version is being turned into a different game of it's own. Not because there was anything wrong or functioning of the game to began with(it was a working product), but because it's in a "Westernization" gutting process. Pets and mischief box were both optional and the developers had an option in which players could turn pets off if they didn't want to see them. Mischef was a simple matter of not using the item or selling it.
Now features in the game are missing in the NA when the updates ultimately come from it's full-functioning K-Tera original.
This here is one of my top reasons i canceled my pre order. Simply put I do not like when someone trying to sell me something, puts on "troll face" and bluntly say they know what is best for me and I should like it or leave. That way of reasoning rubs me the wrong way simply put. TERA will never compromise with the player base, and even if they do for reasons unknown it will be choice A or B. Both choice's being created by the dev's and decided by them, with zero public input.
This theory is being proven at every corner, instead of working on a solution to putting out the fire, they throw a bucket of water on every ember that ignites and think crisis averted. TERA will get burned unless it finds a solution to prevent things from popping up. If a forum has 15 locked threads on 2 pages, it means that stiff is slipping through the cracks. In the words of my chemistry professor "A boulder can be split by a drop of water, if even the smallest crack exists"
