2. It will not stop people screaming about the censorship issue. That is what needs to stop.

Again even removing every troll people would still complain about the censorship defeating the point and annoying the rest of us to no end.

rest of us who? and if it's so annoying...why do you or anyone else who's 'annoyed' even bother to read or post in threads that they don't like? seems a tad masochistic to read things you don't have to, to post in places you don't have to, in topics that you find annoying.

if something annoys you, irritates you, angers you, etc, etc, etc...pretty simple solution...walk away.

i did for awhile, went to other places, other forums discussing the issue that don't have the forum censorship like this one does with thread locks. heh...censorship...slippery slope, once you start thinking you have a higher moral ground than anyone else...and the power even in a small way...it tends to get abused.

and the trolls tend to intentionally try to get threads locked that they don't like, somewhat common to even have ringers used by a company where that's all they do, flame or trollbait a thread to get it locked for language or flaming. a fairly common tactic sadly. fanboys of said company being the most common thread killers used.

how exactly does 40 people not caring = 40 who want the changes reversed?

Don't waste your breath. Malamasala has been consistently twisting statistics and presenting false, misleading numbers and setting up biased poles to try and prove a non-existent point. I've given up trying to explain to them why.

But as I've said before, exaggeration, hyperbole, misinformation and misrepresentation seems to be a recurring theme in this debate. From both sides. Malamasala is just a contributor.

i just dont know how someone can say 40 people not having an opinion = agreeing with your side. I'm seriously tryingto understand how someone can honestly consciously distort the numbers that badly

Learn to read?

I said 40 people thinking it is a dead horse and complaining, would automatically be happier if nobody made Elin threads. I'm not stating they want something changed, I'm stating changes would make them happier indirectly.

The list can pretty much be summed up as "People with a chance to be happier" and "People with a chance to be angrier".

Though we all know at heart that Knoxxer already stated the new armors are high quality designs and they'll neither revert nor edit the armors. They are final as in "will never change". Which kind of means the Elin threads are final and will never stop, which is a bit sad.

And if they removed the Elin entirely and that got rid of the entire Elin Crusaders, that would still make those people happy. So does that mean we can put them into the "Pro-Censorship" basket?

^very well put, but our side shouldn't go unchecked either. this is what should happen:
1) create a focused title related to elin.
2) stay on topic
3) report trolls, if they come in, at every opportunity
4) do not respond to trolls
5) rely on constructive criticism. focus on improvement.

i actually wonder if trolls would just come into an elin thread just to report everyone. i'm sure EME keeps tabs on such abuse of that function though...

@OP

Do not confuse the vocal minority with the majority.

People are wayyyy more likely to come on the forums to talk about how they are unhappy with a change than they are to come on the forums to talk about how happy they are with the change.

Your data is is flawed... mainly because the vast majority of the people who don't care about the changes or approved wouldn't even bother posting in one of those threads.

I agree with you entirely. Sadly (and you'd think otherwise), forums don't seem to be the place for constructive debates, only insults, snark, and arguments. On the one hand, I would hate to see this issue fall into obscurity and never be addressed by En Masse, but on the other hand, I abhor the flame war that it has sparked. To anyone who is reluctantly contemplating rolling an Elin: please put the behavior on the forums out of your mind because it is actually not common in my experience to be directly attacked for playing as an Elin character (I have never experienced it, as far as anecdotal evidence goes, and there are always the block and report functions). I know the forums would make you think otherwise, but like most games by and large, there are the forum trolls, and then there are the players of the game who have a rather different mindset. I'm thankful for that fact.

Your assumption is that the Elin crusaders would leave. You'd be right if it was true, but my gut feeling tells me that if EME deleted Elins, they'd never hear the end of it.

And I believe I haven't placed any censorship baskets on the field at all. Just happiness baskets. The half-empty ones that could be filled, and the full ones that needs no more.
