Elins, Someone Please Explain.

Okay, I'm getting a little tired of the race forum being clogged with these "OMFG ELIN CHANGES I'M NOT GUNNA PLAY UNLESS IT'S UNDONE" threads. So i'm raising a simple question to the people that are against the changes. Why did you like the Elins before? Just give me a straight answer as to what drew you to the race in the first place. Looking at the video from the Euro sneak preview http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zwJmetHBVdo and one from the ktera http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jY93URHChU. The only noticeable difference is the boxers which are still pretty short, and the covering of the midriff. They haven't lost that cuteness that they had before.

So again my question is why did you like the Elins before?

Side note, I'm not calling people who like Elins pedos, i think they're a very adorable race. I just can't figure out why these changes merit the apocalypse.

^^^^ That. Though saying they're not cute anymore because of the changes only arms another group with even more gasoline, then the argument starts up again.... It will inevitably become another endless cycle of stupid, petty, "discussions."

It did but they reverted to a different forum ranking system which had it moved to page two (oh i wonder why.....)

Missing the question people... I knew there was a risk of starting another endless argument. I'm not asking about your anti censorship opinion. I'm asking what you liked about the Elin race before the change.

Yes, someone could simply say "They were cute before, now they aren't". But you'd be missing the point. They didn't take away from the cuteness of the race, they made the underwear into boxers and covered the midriffs. They didn't change any other features.

So again... Why did you like the Elins before the change.

Exactly my thoughts.

To put it another way, I have the same reaction to people who suggest creationism/intellectual design are in any way related to "science", or when people believe vaccinations can cause autism, or any number of other bundles of ignorance people have way too much willingness to display.

The only reason it's an issue is because people make it an issue through sheer ignorance. This is intolerable, and the fact that EME is tailoring specifically for such individuals drives me bonkers.

Well, see, this is the issue.

I don't even plan on playing the Elin. I don't care much for them in the first place. The only reason I'm even posting in these topics is because the sheer audacity of what's happening is incredibly striking.

It's an extremely small but comparatively vocal minority who are even for these kinds of changes in the first place, and they aren't even playing the game. So, yeah, that's basically it.

For those who want to argue over whether or not they're still visually appealing, that's their deal. I just don't care.
