sorry guys, it was en masse...they said if we dont like the elin's armor we can switch to a different race in hopes we'll enjoy that armor more! so we can all throw down our picket signs and move on with our lives

I disagree. Do you pick up a guy/girl at the bar because they have an amazing personality? Or do you "look" around for someone who is visually pleasing and go spark a conversation with them?

The point of me posting this material is to show that the ESRB can be real flexible in what can be defined for an "M" rating and how far a developer/publisher can go before they run into the dreaded "A" rating.
Well just looked more into it, thought it was an older title.
But it just released in EU and NA, and is a pretty underground title over here or at least that is what I am getting from the articles and the comments themselves.
Prolly cuz it doesn't have a full blown censorship controversy behind it lol.
Heh... here's a funny thought. What if EME did this whole censorship thing originally as a publicity stunt to drum up interest for the game? I mean when you think about it sex doesn't really sell or rather sell as hard anymore, however if you throw in a feature that looks like censorship to a community that is really sensitive to that kind of thing you end up with a 2 year long publicity campaign that holds the interest of the gaming community to see how events unfold.

I truly hope not, that would not sit well with me. Though it is popular amongst the Hollywood celebrity's it is just sad that any one person or company would stoop so low. For the chance of being a thorn in the eye for a few more seconds...

If it's just standard gameplay which all MMOs or Tera has to offer (combat, crafting, etc.) then it doesn't affect it. But who's to say gameplay is limited to just that? It's not really about merely playing the game but how you play it. There are players who want to display or flaunt their armor/clothing as social aspect of their gameplay. And since Elin armors have been horribly edited by EME how can Elin players completely appreciate their race if they already know that the original versions are superior.
To put censorship on a single race because of EME's personal view that it may have moral repercussions or out of "fear" from certain conservative groups is utterly biased and unwarranted. It's probably one of the worst mistakes (if not the worst) EME has done for Tera. Elins are THE most popular race in the game in all existing servers. And to alter even as simple as armor design is already a slap to the face to hardcore Elin players. If they wanted place censorship they should have implemented it to all races (not that I want them to). Some armors of female humans, elves, and especially castanic have armor designs that are even more revealing than the Elin's. The fact that EME pinned it all on the Elin proves that they have no love for the asian cute/petite body archetype and are afraid of being accused as pedophiles.
I personally don't think Tera NA will fail simply because of these edited armors. However it will definitely hinder them from acquiring a lot of potential players who are loyal to the original Elin armor designs. Unfortunately the damage has already been done and unless EME reverts them back to their original this argument won't ever end.
