BREAKING NEWS, EVERYONE!!!

Elin costume changes don't affect gameplay one bit! EME busy with things that matter! Useless discussion needs to die!

No film at 11.

Well, playing as differently colored cubes wouldn't change gameplay either, so perhaps that is what EME should do. Remove all races, insert cubes. At least Destian wouldn't care, because he only worries about gameplay.

Conspiracy theorems.

Constantly going after EME, bluehole is the one that makes the decisions I hope you all know that at least. If Bluehole didn't like it or did not feel the change was absolutely needed, why did they do it. ALSO bashing EME when they didn't even make the new models, once again Bluehole.

Any way, that ps3 game isn't going for the size of crowd this game is.

I think it is safe to say that anyone against the censorship of Elin's don't have kids. I have a 4 year old daughter. If my daughter at the age of 10 (which elin's look like 10 year olds) wanted to run around lingerie she would be grounded for a life time.

I don't care what is ok in korea, or japan or whatever backwards 3rd world country, but if a game is going to come out for an American audience I sure in the hell do not want to run around a game with characters reminding me of whats wrong with people these days. I'm glad EME decided against the korean themed Elin's and actually added a little more clothing to them.

"Backwards 3rd world country"? I'm surprised someone of your ignorance is buying and supporting a game from a "3rd world country".

I had to get in on this......I have 2 kids, both girls one is 3 the other is 8 years old. Now, I know where to draw a line between reality and a high fantasy CG pixel.....what's you point? I have kids and I don't like the changes......

Niche or not a quarter of a million is not something you turn your nose to.

Rated t for teen and console exclusive.

very different than an M for mature MMO pc exlusive.

still did better than I would have thought for a cutesy jrpg, usually those are terrible...

Perhaps, but my point being that their global target audience is of a noteworthy size and deserves consideration especially when it comes to altering in-game material even if it is for the sake of another culture. Case in point in the interview NIS asked their American branch whether they wanted to keep the Keiji Inafune weapons to which they answered "HELL YES!!!"

In case you're wondering....

Wrote to Tera about telling me why they did this. Tera wrote me back with no good reason to why they censor the Elins outfits and the GM couldn't even tell me why they did this. I mean whats to say US tera won't stop with censoring the Elins. They might even censor the other famale races outfits. I mean really whats to stop them? Make me mad that the US tera base morons do this to a game that has a MA rating. Fact of the matter they have only hurt the game by censoring the Elins outfits. Any game that has a MA rating should not have any kind of censoring on it what so ever! The US tera base has given no good reason or proof too why they had to censor the Elins outfits. I have to say the new outfits are pretty ugly and look like qucik fixes. The Elin Archer oufits look really bad now and not cute at all....

Really funny to see how people believe an action based, combat driven MMO will fail if one of the races shows 5% less skin close to the groin. The fact is, it won't, the game will be just as successful either way, and if there are people who would refuse to play, then the playerbase is better off without them. Either get over it or go play KTera, where you can enjoy your sexualized children. Which is exactly what they are, and attempting to deny it only favors that argument. Because why else would you all care so much...

I'd be lying if I said I read all 33 pages of this very interesting discussion. Got tired after page 11 and skipped to the end. This situation interests me because I figured the guys behind TERA managed to insult two cultures with this issue. By their actions, they've labeled Koreans as child porn publishers, and Americans as culturally backward hicks incapable of understanding both the difference between fantasy and reality, and the physical differences between Asian and Caucasian females.

I was deeply offended at the slight to America. But after reading all the responses on this board, I realized, to my embarrassment, that they only insulted Korea.

Do you have information that it was Blue Hole that made the changes themselves?

It's really odd smooth bottom pieces suddenly change into bulky, rushed diaper wear. The inspirations and detail that was presented in both monsters and world, doesn't line up with these current lackluster changes.

>>>There was a post up here someone mentioned that koreans are basically being labeled as pedo's by the reactions over here (which is insulting the say the least since it IS a korean game being played). What has happened to TERA is that any part of the "non western" mind-set that doesn't fall into the WoW-raid generic concept of an mmo is being treated as a plague. Ironically this IS a "non western" game to began with.

If I don't like asian games, why bother playing them? Should I say all the 'Asian' elements of the game be stripped away when it's an asian game to began with? Sooner or later those elements will show. There's only so much stripping that can be done until a game ends up broken or below its full potential.

That would be silly! But that's what's happening to Tera.

What will happen if there is an update in the future where one of the game-patches contains an update on Tera's saga with an Elin? Is the entire patch going to be skipped or butchered to death because of the original armors?
