i had heard that these were only 'place holders' after their images were shown at an open house event. so i've been under the impression the eme intends to fix them at some point.

This here is why i hate arguing with uneducated people.

EME/BHS have already stated that the the decision to change the things they changed was a business decision, and part of the westernization/localization of the game. The developers have answered the "Why?", as well as stated that the changes are none negotiable. Why people never bothered to get them self's caught up is out of my understanding.

It doesn't matter why, it was stated before that other companies didn't have to edit a young looking character, and as BananaBread said, it's how it's 'not' being handled. Getting your money back from a pre-order is based on much more than how revealing the character is, but rather how the situation is handled. My decision has been Ping-Ponged since but it's coming to a close as i'm feeling enjoyment from a free game just as much as i am this, games are games it doesn't matter if it's online, offline, free or $100 - When it comes down to how you are treated, it is for the individual to gauge.

Right now i have more of a reason to dislike how one of my ticket was handled, every Elin supporter was called a Negligible person in said ticket, how would that make you feel if you had an issue, if you were "Negligible". That was either a poor choice of words or the entire company feels this way, you pick.

I got the same reply on a ticked about the exact same thing, apparently according to the wording people in NA and EU are unable to comprehend the original stile of the game as such the BHS/EME had taken the challenge of bringing it down to our level... The usual Asian superiority complex reply. I just don't let it bother me, me and my cat share a 20,000sq.ft house, Koreans are 50 people per 10sq.ft so I let the insults slide.

TERA throws the censor curtain, people flood the net with mods. TERA make's a mod blocker, people make a go around script.

I don't mean it sounded like that in the ticket, i mean that was the exact word used.

I would very much like to see the whole response, even if it was just you quoting it or a screen shot

Yes, I know that, I'm not talking about the reason behind the changes and I honestly don't care if they don't revert them or whatever, what is really bothering me is that people ask for a better option on the cosmetic appearance of said "changes" and no actual response is given and I don't know if anyone remembers but they did said that they where going to make an official thread just for feedback once the changes where done and that the community will be able to help improve said changes, wich I haven't seen and probably won't, since we are close to launch date and those words are buried under the huge pile of threads on the old forums.

I've been following this game long enough to create my own doubts on some inconsistency on the comunication with the players and the lack of it in some cases. It's like saying "Hey guys! We are doing the changes for X reason and we won't accept any feedback and once we do, the changes are final and no negotiable so ***** yourselfs, stop complainig and buy the game" Sometimes actions have more meaning than words.

I fully agree, that statement fully describes why BHS/EME will get away with it. The player base are paying even though they are the one's getting bent over. When it's the dev's that need to start bending over. If people really believe in the words they spew out, then they would follow it up with actions. I am reading the same person saying "changes now" in 1 thread, and in another they are still willing to bend over. If people took a stand the forums should be empty and desolate, people are being hypocrites that's why the devs of this game are getting away with shait that would never fly in another game.

edit: as well a person should be freely able to post images from any TERA version here, not just from the version they are trying to throw to the dogs (dogs meaning the NA/EU people the way EME see's it)

I want to say 3 things about this.

1. My support ticket started out having NOTHING to do with the Elin changes, except that, i was asking if future armor would be edited from the original Korean version, Mkay?

2. After 4 or 5 responses and 2 weeks later i finally wanted a non-copy paste response, the intention was to see exactly how the thought process worked beyond an unbiased pre-made response.

3. I give full respect to GM Gammalon for not giving me a copy paste response, and i certainly hope it was poor wording.

Don't try defending it, let me go ahead and fix it so you understand.
Negligible: the quantities so small that they can be ignored

"I believe that the game play speaks louder than an armor texture issue does and that there is such a small number of people who will abandon TERA because of this that they can be ignored, if any at all."

Using the word Negligible was probably one of the worst words you can think of in that sentence, furthermore, the rest of it should tell you how much they think of your opinion on appearance.

To reiterate my response following this one, i can play a free game and still have fun, or do alot more with $60 +$14/mo, it doesn't matter why i choose too, but supporting a company that won't support a massive amount of people? I can do better with my money.

Keep reading, they think we Elin supporters are focused on how revealing armor is, not about the principle of the matter, and as a reminder, my support ticket had nothing to do with how revealing it is, i think the entire texture edit was bad and i don't want to see more brown diapers.

Well a GM's is a representative of the game developers, as such his/her view reflects that of said company. As such according to the company in this case EME/BHS every one that is unhappy with the MAIN selling point of the game the visuals is Negligible. So if people ever needed a reason to cancel pre orders, now you have a solid reason.

My guess (and please, do note that this is nothing more than a guess), is that EME expects this, hence the change for the broader audience. I can tell you from first hand experience, as a person who loves their moe anime characters, or just anime in general, that the perception of even that, let alone lolicons, is extremely negative inside and out of gaming here in the west. I've shown that comparison screenshot of old/new/should be Elin armor to a handful of my fellow MMO'ers, and they all think that the originals were "gross" or "pedobear". These are the people that are going to be playing the game along side those of us who don't mind the original Elin armor or those of you who want it changed back. And as I expressed above, I think we will be greatly outnumbered in the end due to the nature of Tera's design. Again, it's anecdotal, but the amount of interest I have seen in Tera spring up over the past 2 months in my vicinity is incredible.

I think that while this may be an economical boost at the start, you are also already setting up the situation for problems in the future.

The longer this issue lasts, the more we segregate. I'm already at the point that I have no intention to talk to non-Elins, because they might be jerks who think original armors were pedo. I don't want to deal with "Secondary fans" that only jumped on Tera after the Elins were changed.

I wouldn't be surprised if people not playing Elin feel the opposite, and are going to stay as far away from any Elins as possible, because they are just whining and pedos.

So EME's attempt at "slating" over the issue of someone possibly not playing due to Elins, have now started the progress to split servers into pro-censorship groups and anti-censorship groups that will not interact on any other level than possibly PvP.

The game will die from inside, when the tensions move from forums into the game. Not roll over and die kind of die though, but that slow rotting death that can happen to toes who do not get enough blood.

Well said. Gammalon was just doing his job.

I am not willing to mod my files and beyond that, a later statement in that same ticket, he stated that it was in fact a bannable offense to alter files, which i knew, but also said that it isn't guaranteed that the edits will work in future patches. Make of that whatever you will.
