People that are against the censor be a bit honest about this.
It's not an art people don't understand, it's not chibi it simply lolicon in a very light way.
That was their intention because it sells (especially in Japan).

Let's be honest here having butt shots/panty shots of Elins and putting them in their underwear is not cute (mind you only a 'few' armors sets actually do this)
If they wanted to make this cute they would have gone for something different.


Keep in mind in some Eu countries this is not allowed either, having animated 'child hentai' on your computer is illegal and you can get prosecuted for it.
As said that's a lot of steps further then the Elin but as a company you don't want to risk this.
A government banning the game will get the whole media circus on your neck along with losing a lot of income.


Personally I think Elins are on the edge, I would rather see a good censor that the K version and rather non then this ugly censor.
Castanics are also censored ( some armors reveal the nipples) though it looks like the put the nipples at the wrong spot so yeah good censor there.

As far as i understand it no other race was censored. The nipple thing was a mod made by some korean fans an loaded onto their own web site. People from here found em an thought they were real. But i dont know how true that is.

I would pretty much believe that, saw the censor/mod they put the nipples on the wrong place , would be a bit sloppy for devs.

It's sad EME thinks the Elin player base is 'negligible'. It really is, I'm really wondering how they pulled that out of their [filtered].

It's been shown in many polls on the old forums, and other poll sites, statistically roughly 25-30% of the player base is going to play an Elin as a main.

And from polls about the armor, 83% of that 30% of the player base HATES the changes and are most likely going to mod their files or quit.

That is in no way negligible, that is NOT a minority.

EME needs to get their heads out of thier asses, address their community, and hopefully give the player base some better detailed edits.

It's really unfortunate that EME decided to change them in the first place. To what? Appease to to people who are most likely not going to play anyways? To appease the trolls who even after the changes are still [filtered]ing about the Elin?

Those are not the kind of crowds they should appease, for the obvious reasons that they troll just to troll and even in this crap state their still trolling.

People say the original Elin would of had repercussions in the West. I say BS. If they left as is and never said a thing it would of never been blown out of proportions like it is now.

They absolute worst is an article on Faux News. But they only people who seriously take what they say as the word of god are as i said either not going to buy the game anyways or still [filtered]ing even after the changes. These are the kind of people that don't matter in any statistic, and EME should not have tried to appease to those kind of people.

People need to remember fantasy and reality are different. That's supposed to one thing that separates humans from animals. The Elin are not real, no one was hurt in drawing them up. Since they are fantasy and no one was hurt they are protected as freedom of expression under the First Amendment.

And theirs always the option of not playing an Elin character if you don't like them....

That is another part of the problem. Elins are really far from the edge, but people without perspective wants to narrow the distance down and claim it is right on the edge.

Elins are actually further from child porn, than children at the beach is. And as we've repeatedly said, very few Americans refuse to go to the beach due to all the live action child pornography they have there.

The day I hear Americans say they hate the child porn at the beaches, is the day I'll accept Elin armor changes. As it is now, people try and limit fiction harder than reality, and that is just plain bull[filtered].

It is not rocket science. It is simply not having double standards on a whim.

That suggestion has been brought up several times and shot down every time. Sadly En Masse/Blue Hole has no intention of making such an option.

Think of the children! Censoring the Elin and ignoring the community is going to magically save real children from real child molesters!

I mean real pedos are going pay $60 + $15/month just to stare at a fantasy character when they can proxy + google for free or just go out stalking in you know, real life rite?



In all seriousness unfortunately already turned that idea down because 'they'd have to resubmit to ESRB' even though even in they original armor they were still rated as M. So it's not like it would change the rating...

Hmm. Elin is pretty typical standard in most asian mmos, games, and movies. This is NA however, so EU is out of the question.

Another fact that people don't realize is that TERA is not an "X" rated game. Other than comic misc-heft and a few choice clothing for castanics(which is why the game is meant for 18+ originally in Korea, M here) there is nothing in TERA that would constitute it as such.

If this character etna from disaega can come out fine in US, then what is wrong with Elin? Sold here, right in US. And the game is doing fine, btw.

And the government cannot ban, because elin is NOT illegal. So that throws that out the window.

Making church people(who are always against everything in the world, and lost over the new Archie Comics) and soccer-moms angry, that will never play the game? Their always the same people who think video-games should just disappear off the face of the earth, regardless of what they are.

Because they believe a cartoon character constitutes to an actual, live person. So if that were the case, half of gamers would be in prison for simply killing a cartoon character in a video-game. It's the same thing that's happened to GTA and other games.

That too. Players can't even ask for quality changes for censorship that they didn't even want in the first place. So, TERA is just going to be packaged up and shipped with the cruddy sub-par edits in it and any other nips and cuts done to the game.
