Don't know about lore but they completely [filtered] up on the race wallpaper

I'd say giving people the creeps is spot on.

That sounds like something EME changed from their lore for no reason. Elin are cute, childlike and their speech is the exact opposite of "dark, forthright, and otherworldly". Originally ktera Elin had cute humor I have not heard anything "vicious" from them. There is nothing in the lore that suggests this. It's basically a "we don't want you playing this race dirty weeaboo, us Westerners like our MMOs to be hardcore dark, edgy, and gritty." Although I guess to some they can look creepy, because they look like children but are not, there's just something creepy about that, and those eyes....

I guess because if they were both created by the Goddess and appeared on the same race line in the character creator (as seems to be the case in Korea) then not only would the hint of bestiality be added to the mix but the hint of incest also, which, of course, would have been too much for the Western mind.

They don't even reproduce sexually, according to original Lore.

As far as the Korean race selection-screen goes, I was trying to account for this (see 4:31), which I assume means that they share (or did share) a single race, the Popori. I first saw this in what I think was a newer vid, though.

I don't think it has been changed too much. The original lore is that the popori and elin are of the same race. The elin were created by the goddess and the popori were created using the magic of the elin.
There was a slight change. They were originally supposed to have a capricious and almost un-human sense of humor, like how faeries enjoy messing with people who end up lost in the woods. When it was moved to the western countries (idk if its cause of a difference in language or they just wanted it to be a bit darker) the lore changed slightly. It wasn't changed to a drastic amount.

a good comparison to the changes in elin lore is like how a note ir raised an octave, its still the same note just with a slight, noticeable difference.

and i dont see the point in being bothered by the wallpaper, when most elin players tend to make the elin faces look like they came outa a manga, not like u're going to play with them. Even if u did play with an elin with that face, how often are u going to be looking at it considering ur going to be moving around and fighting.


edit: I forgot to bring this up. Yes, before the closed beta tests the popori and elin shared races on the character create, However later on they decided to split them up. (i'm still unclear as to the reasoning behind it but i think its because they are so different in aesthetics)
Even though that is the case they are all still popori seeing as how the word "Popori" encompasses all the elins and animal protectors that originated from Poporia.

also the lore does not say they are under aged girls, it says that the elin are older than they seem. From the original lore, or at least the first one i read (i've followed the game since it was just a rumor in KR) it suggested that the elins age but their outward appearance barely changes if at all.

^ LOL Those pictures.

The westernization pictures of Elin looks like evil ugly kids or dolls after your soul. The NA wallpapers look more like funny looking kids than the asian wallpapers do. At least the asian ones used the cute faces...

I think they changed the lore of them being dark is because of how they made them appear in our NA wallpapers..maybe they're trying to scare off people from choosing an Elin when they research races on the website and see a bunch of bride of chucky dolls staring at you. xD
