^ Pretty much. Love getting told I'm a pedo because I prefer girls with athletic(but not muscular) builds and a nice backside and legs as opposed to huge mammary glands /sarcasm. That's not to say I spend my time lurking around elementary school playgrounds, a pedobear I am not. I just don't really dig the whole Xena warrior princess or jersey shore snooky type girl.

We all have a our quirks. Breasts; Some like 'em huge, some don't. More than a mouth full is a waste and less than a handful is a man. Preferences aside this whole Elin=child porn thing has really gotten under my skin so I've been avoiding the race forums for a while hanging out in the general and art forums. Try as I might not everyone will agree with my views. I'd swear the Elin debate is like an athiest talking to a christian. Nothing but drama and fighting will ensue. You play your class, I'll play mine. At least try not to act like you're in grade 9. That's all I'm getting at.

EME removes such posts because they are delusional to how EME and Elin players think, and are offensive to an entire race in the game, one of the more popular ones at that. Furthermore, as seen with Sonic101mk2, they make the race forums a less than comfy place to post in...

I'd recommend to not keep on posting something EME deems unsuitable if you really care about the game and them as much as you claim. That one should be a no brainer.

THIS WAS THE POST THAT WAS DELETED! READ IT BEFORE IT GETS REMOVED AGAIN!

-------

Here's the problem with the entire debacle at this point...

My guess is this: EME thinks the armors look fine. They were created by BHS and EME doesn't want to bother them for a second round of changes.

Furthermore, (and this is the REAL problem...) hiding among the people who genuinely don't like the way the armor looks are people who are NEVER going to be happy with ANY level of quality of armor changes because they will not be happy with anything LESS than the removal of the censoring and fully intend to feign unhappiness with every version BHS produces.

And hiding among THOSE people are pedophiles. Not saying anyone here is a pedophile, but I think my comic was fairly accurate in that pedobear IS hiding among the fans who really don't like the armors (the real pedos probably haven't said anything yet because the debate is still raging. As soon as it quiets down, I expect them to come out of the woodwork and pick up the torch).

Bottom line, EME doesn't want to get into a subjective debate with pedophiles. They can never win. No matter how many changes to the armor they make, there will ALWAYS be people complaining because there will always be some people who will NEVER be happy until the censoring is removed and will keep whining in the hopes that EME will give in and remove the censoring.

This is why this discussion will NEVER go anywhere: EME is not going to try to please a group of people when, hiding among them, are people who will never be pleased with anything less than the removal of the censorship.

You know, for once, I don't disagree with you, at least not totally. I don't disagree with the "you can't please everyone" motto. But I have to add the caveat, that just because a few individuals will not be satisfied with everything, does not mean you should ignore the many that you can satisfy. After all, a business should be interested in the many, not the few.

BTW, reverting to the original designs would only take, like, 10 seconds. Hardly a bother.

What happened to fighting censorship, preserving the artistic integrity of the original designers and promoting freedom of expression? Your solution wouldn't solve any of that. I thought this debate was about all those things, not seeing Elin pantsu.

I was helping my friend run an anime stand selling figurines at an anime convention, and we asked the customers, who were 90% female, what they wanted from figures. In a nutshell, they didn't mind the sexy costumes, or that all clothing could be removed. What they wanted was an additional layer of clothing that was stylish, beautiful and "respectable". In other words, they didn't mind that guys could strip off the additional layer to have their sexy figurine as long as they had the option for a less sexy outfit. They wanted options, and gamers are no different. This isn't unreasonable. I don't see it as censorship being an issue. I see the issue as lacking options.

The problem here is that (and again, I'm GUESSING here) EME doesn't want to open the pandora's box, so they're choosing to ignore the issue.

This is not what I would do in their place, but judging by their silence, this is what they've opted to do.

True, but EME doesn't want to remove the censorship.

If the issue wasn't problematic, EME would've said something on the matter by now, and the fact that THAT post was being deleted when it sought to explain why EME hasn't been responding on the matter says that I probably hit the nail on the head..

There have been extremely angry, accusatory posts that haven't been deleted, posts where the person accused EVERY ELIN FAN of being a pedophile.

Those were not deleted. My post explaining why EME won't take any action WAS deleted.

You do the math.

Armor like elin is pretty much standard issue in asian mmo's, series and books. Take a look at "HyperDimension" for the PS3 rated "T" for teens.

Now comparing that to elin original armor and the elins are a *lot* more tamed.

Of topic but I have that game, I found it hilariously funny too, looking forward to the sequel!

@ExValkyire

Agreed. Making sections of the game and it's community avoid each other is the opposite of the game's spirit. This isn't a faction game like WoW. Haters gonna hate but there are other games designed for that type of gamer else where, this is a game that promotes community so lets act like one?

If Hyperdimension is a T-rated game then why were the elins changed for an M-rated(Mature) game?
I've played Saints Row 3 which you can basically run around with a dong-bat and be naked (with a blurr) smacking and hitting npcs and a bdsm club. And that game is rated "M" for mature.

Because of the conclusions over here that the elins suddenly equals illegal child-pornography and promoting harm to children. None of which is true.

So then the elins armor was replaced with a quick copy-and-paste fix. These games and videos that have long since been published. Unfortunately elins have taken a hit in the process. Trolls rampage the forums calling players "pedo" for playing elins. Threads were closed(some repeats). Request for better armor still goes un-answered.

We are not 'pedos'. We are gamers ourselves

Yeah as a gamer that s played for at least 20 years, spanning 14 consoles and various iterations of PC's. I expect the ratings system of games to have some integrity to it.

I was under the impression that there was never any feedback from players but that EME did it themselves.

There are two conclusions to be drawn from this:

2. EME made the decision with no prompting from players, which means they've erred on the side of caution already.

You are drawing a conclusion from an impression. /facepalm

Please post again when you have actual facts.

I think he meant that the people only wanting the originals could be ignored because it would only take them 10mins to mod their textures. x3

Anyhow, I don't think their silence in the Race section is anything to draw conclusions from. It's been hectic since the forums have launched and attracts many trolls. I personally believe that due to the many requests for the content to be worked on, that eventually it will be addressed. How it will be addressed I'm unsure of, but there are actually many ways to cater to what many of us are worked up about.

Just to clear it up for myself though, just because I think their initial changes with low quality copy and pasted content was just tacky, subpar, and shows a lack of care, doesn't mean, for me at least, that I don't believe they will address our desires and concerns for quality outfits. I do still love TERA and the Elins, and not to mention, EME for the most part, has shown to care about all players of their game.

Given the sheer number of outfit revision requests from various forum sections, I'm sure they are already considering how and when to provide something to address the issue. A remedy/mitigation could come in many forms, though so I'm keeping an eye on it. ;3

In the mean time, people will continue to request a revision, and although some of that is under the guise of requesting the originals, it's mostly just because it's a request already established by a vocal few. Needless to say, I'm sure EME can see past that as the real issue being disapproval of the quality in the changes from the originals, as opposed to them not being the originals themselves, which is a easy thing to mend if given the time to do so.
