Interesting... It's the one race you couldn't pay me to play... Sorry, I just think they look stupid as hell and I hate even seeing them running around myself... They are even more ridiculous then little furry animal CHRs running around... (I am in favor of options to support a variety of players however, so...)

I also believe I can understand where you are coming from... that race looks so out of place? Why are they even here? They look so small and weak... how do they do anything? They don't fit in the universe!

Yeah... probably something along those lines...

But, I sort of like that even in and of itself, watching my character beat a monster 40x the size of itself is twice as satisfying as watching my character beat a monster that is 20x the size of herself ;D

And if the Elin are "the only thing separating TERA from other MMOs" what's going to happen when B&S comes out? Are you going to jump ship to try out the Lyn?

Male Lyn test really high in the Catholic Priest and Creepy Uncle departments. So the answer to that would be: I would have more problems with a game supporting playing little boys than I would with one playing only little girls.

I would almost guarantee that would be false if someone actually did some testing into that.

Not because those people dislike little boys, but because the people loudest against something are usually closet cases that are ashamed of themselves.

Take homosexual rights as an example, how many of the champions against homosexual's have been found out to be hiring [filtered] prostitutes themselves?

I think its about the same here, people that are able to acknowledge Elin for what they are are for the most part healthy individuals, Weather they like or dislike the Elin have nothing to do with it. But those running around screaming everyone that likes Elins are pedophiles are the ones that really have a issue.

EDIT: G ay is filtered? really? Enmasse has more issues then I thought.

But if I was the content designer for TERA, this thread would break my heart.


Moeri found one thing that TERA has to offer that not only allowed it to stand out from the thousands of choices available but also provides an enjoyable gaming experience. A content developer's heart may be broken but that's okay because that one thing got a new player to try out their game.

Not saying anything bad about you Roda but what some people consider cake could be someone else's frosting and vice versa. Either way a good balance is needed for an enjoyable experience.

Well for me Roda it goes something like this... "Come for the Elin, stay for everything else". In essence for ME (bolded for emphasis not shouting) the Elin are a hook and TERA's primary attraction however if everything else about the game sucked [filtered] it'd ruin my gaming experience and the main reason why I picked this game in the first place.


There's more to this story but you'd have to "read" at least the first two pages.

Stereotyping everyone that plays an Elin as a pedophile is like saying everyone that plays a popori is a zoophile (spelling?) or every male that plays a male castanic or male high elf is homosexual. That's simply not true. Was there a study done where they could judge a person's sexual preference based on what race,gender,class a person played in an mmo? I'm sorry I must have missed that. I can honestly care less for anyone's reason for playing any given class or race.
I stated above Elin were ones of my last choices in a race to play. After playing one I had a blast I found it entertaining watching them flip around and jumping backward. I found the animations to be well done. Judging anyone based on that is like 2+2=shoe.

To be honest I have no clue where sexual preference comes in at all. My first impressions of tera was, Aman token bad @$$es, high elves token elves, Elin token cute race. How sex got involved I'll never know. Other then maybe a teenage boy going heheh castanic boobies, I don't see how people got to OMG pedo race. Even then it's laughable that people make a fuss about bikini armor. It's a fantasy game.. I saw star wars as a kid and wanting to be a jedi. Does that mean I secretly wanted some creepy old hermit to teach me? again see the equation above.

This dudes got it right about the ones running around screaming having issues. (disclaimer I do not have children, but my point is valid) Quick scenario. I have someone at my house and my kid is running around acting goofy, playing, being a kid. But doesn't have a shirt on. (I know I was always tearing clothes off as a kid). This person says to you "You got a cute kid " Is that going to instantly set red flags off? How about this, same thing kid running around and the person says to you "I'm really not comfortable with your kid being here without a shirt" I'm sorry that person is headed for a face full of window in a hurry. Are these people that immature where they can involve sex into everything? Or are you that insecure that having an Elin running around is making them uncomfortable?

Its sad and sick that this does really happens I personally play games like this to escape for maybe an hour or two (lol ok maybe more) It's really sad that this cold harsh reality has to be brought into someones small escape from it.

I can totally understand your reasoning. A huge reason why I play this game is the asian style this especially includes the Elin.

Now I really like the combat too, but if not for the character design, I wouldnt play this game. If Im able to play a RPG I want to have choices I like. And no, I dont imagine myself a some little girl, or as woman since my first character wont be an Elin but female, im traveling with my character, she is something like my companion.

Other than that, I played for some years a human male DK. Because I couldnt imagine myself with a female version, he should be somewhat evil, a trait I usually dont look for in the other gender.
