I guess the only "make everyone happy" solution here would be to simply make all reaches and hitboxes equal. Forget animations, forget sizes. Everyone equal so we can see people complaining about something else when they lose in PvP. Maybe the next complain would be about how castanic female zerkers use skimpy outfits and human males lose in PvP because of looking at those for too long? At least they wouldn't complain about this anymore. 1 of 674583623 problems solved. ^.^

In the current state? Avoid fighting elins, or make guild rules forbidding elins for pvp if the matter is that serious.

Or make it balanced. It can be belanced and make it realistic. Elin does not have equal hitboxes, they can have it sized based on model size. But also statistics like HP, Power, Endurance etc. could be based on races.
But also issue with longer reach as small races is something incredible stupid, and it should be fixed. Races with bigger hitboxes should have advantage at attack range.

Overall I do not understand what developers thought. Tera is first AAA no-target game, so big challenge and they did so big issue as races with completly different models sizes. That is obvious it can not be balances without race statistics.

But if they do not want add race stats, make equals hitboxes and range is only way.

Like, Elins probably leap forward, and move their hit boxes forward, so that at the moment they have that longest reach, they are also closer and can be hit by other races reach.

Now, if they actually threw their axes and stood safely at distance, then I think we could have balance issues.

*Sigh* This. Sadly, no one can be bothered to actually test this appropriately nor read what I put down on page 4.

Baraka and Amani weapons are BIGGER than an Elin's and their hitboxes are too. They naturally have longer reach before stepping forward, and they do step forward nearly as far as an Elin. Couple that with the fact that we don't really know from where within the hitbox distance is measured from, and we get very skewed results. Targeting the far side of a target's hitbox registers a different range than the near side of their hitbo, supporting that claim.

Not really defending the OP but reading what they have stated, this isn't about animations anymore. Their claim is simple. The way it is, they are seeing, with field proof or so they claim, that despite all one can say about animations, elins have an unfair advantage in PvP. Period.

That the animation issue is an explanation as to why they have longer reach is of no concern to them. That it could mean changing the elin animation or not is of no concern to them. That it could mean changing a line of code or a million is also of no concern to them. That the world has physics laws and the devs wanted to try and run loosely by those is also of no concern to them. It all ends in one single, simple thing. The advantage they clam must end.

At that, I'm just trying to see this in the simplest way I can.

EDIT: If we started running Tera with race stats, elins would make terrible melee classes and could only be limited to the robed classes. Would be less cruel to remove elins off US Tera altogether. So please let's not go there. I like playing my elin zerker the way it is. :)

Exactly, that just makes sense to me. I don't see why one race would deserve both.

Elin have a longer reach, but also a longer animation to achieve it. Quite frankly, I prefer the faster animations of some of the bigger races.

To those who say the reach is the same, test it for yourself. It's obviously different.

Elins have two unlisted passive racials.

Enthusiastic: Elins have slightly longer reach when attacking.

Cuteness: Elins are harder to hit.

Besides, Castanic females, or should I say Slaanesh Demon Whors, have the same or nearly the same reach as Elin, and because they are only slightly taller they have a smaller hitbox much like Elin.

So quit whining about the Little Girls and start whining about the Succubi Whors whom have the advantages of Elin along with 2 fantastic racials all their own.

why dont delete all the races? everyone we find at game is elin... ok, not 100%, but i'm sure, NO less than 60% are elins! 25% female castanic (look like a... like a... slut)
elins coz the race look cool? not at all, just because she is better at pve and pvp, and thats all. smaller hitbox = take less damage

she have a thin skin, so, why dont remove 2 or 3 points at endurance? she is small and fragile...
and about aman? he have draconic scale! need add 5 ad endurance!
and the stone guy baraka? well... no one can cut stone sooo easy, +10 endurance?
elf are the grace at land, u cant take him down, +5 at balance?
castanic have horns from hell and live (and work) at red light district, and dont take AIDS! +20 resist weakning/ periodic damage

sounds strange, no?

same range/hitbox for all the races!
