Popori/Elin racial traits are bothering me

I recently went and rolled a popori and I'm really loving this race even though I initially disliked the fat n' chubby look. I can for the most part pretend that he's simply stout and muscular, which he probably is under the fur. What I can't pretend, though, is that his racial traits are any good.

Popori and Elin are very popular as characters, but something in me just feels bad about picking a race I know has a clear disadvantage, even if it is arguably a small one. When it comes down to min-maxing, these two races are left in the dust with completely useless racials. Their racials aren't even good in the intended PVE environment.

I propose some additional effects be added to their passives and actives. Personally, I think that all they'd need to do is change Horizon run so that it works in combat too. A small move-speed bonus wouldn't be too powerful and would certainly suit these animal-based folk to be fast and speedy.

Lastly, that useless Friendly Current perk...how about changing it to make the user more resistant to slowing debuffs? Not cancel them out entirely, just shorten the duration of slowing debuffs by a small margin. This way they will still be vulnerable to slowing, just would give less time for the opponent to capitalise on it.

Increased swim speed passive... honestly what a completely worthless passive imo. horizon run... I can live with... but the fact that castanics have exactly the same thing... but in combat... is dumb. The soothing whatever active... I can honestly say that I have not once ever used this whatsoever... so chalk that up as a completely useless skill alongside increased swim speed.

Imo everything else is fine... but the 2 actives and that one passive suck big time.

Soothing Presence is useful for gathering quests where the nodes are right under BAMs/a bunch of mobs. I have used it quite often for that, but haven't used it much in any other situations.

Most people don't realize how good their hit boxes are for pvp that it easily overshadows their terrible racials, Their hitbox have half the height and half the width compared to an amani, melee attacks that go over their heads due to elevation differences will straight out miss even when they're right next to you. I've seen plenty of people race change into elin just for the hit boxes and the longer range zerker attack animations.

I'd assume the problem is that they need more PvE traits.

oh wow... let's give the most OP race the best racials, too. what a great idea, lol. if you are really so desperate for different racials, how about those great on-death ones, from humans or elves, modified to fit your race's lore better?

something like: you collect flowers faster after resurrection! or "or get a buff that increases healing done to your for 10 seconds after being resurrected!". or even better: "free fluffy towel after each death to wipe your tears gently with!" totally fitting the fluffy and adorable elin characters, imo.

Anyone who honestly thinks the elin/popori hitboxes are making them an 'op' race really needs to take a big step back. They are currently, statistically, the most underpowered race in terms of racials. Small hitboxes? Not really going to account for much considering that hiboxes were normalized. Elin get some small animation perks to certain classes, but Popori get nothing. Considering that most class's attacks have wide, arcing hitboxes, such a minor difference in box size is not going to matter much at all. That's a myth that is still being spread around it seems.

Most players I've spoken to about the hitboxes say the same thing - it's barely noticable unless the person on the other end has bad aim to begin with.

Hitboxes weren't "Normalized" perfectly, a Barakka still has a significantly larger hitbox than an Elin. Someone posted a video expressing exact differences, you have the liberty to seek it out/or test it out yourself. It's also more noticable even in skilled combat when your opponent is further away from you, particularly for lock-on spells which happen to generally be the strongest spells in the game, and when they aren't, they're the necessary CC to lead into the strongest spells/skills. Width of the model also tends to be more important than the height, once again especially with lock-ons. From what I can tell, an Elin hitbox's width is limited to the edges of her shoulders which is significantly smaller when you're tryng to hold your cursor still over her vs. any other race (popo included).

Mystics are an example of a great race for Elin since most other racials have minimal benefits for a class that already has a strong arsenal of CC and mobility to protect themselves with, and not enough damage on their own to justify something like the Castanic passive.

Overall Tera has done fairly well with its distribution of played races in the game, as every race has a class it's viable with. (High elves probably have the weakest set of racials in the game but for Slayers that mana restore is enough to surprise-unload in a BG. Who cares about the cooldown when you have the option not to queue for 2 hours?)

Ok, so Elin get some animation and hitbox perks, but what about Popori? They are basically just inferior elin since their hitboxes are larger and they don't get the same animations. On top of this, they STILL have the worst racials competitively out of everyone.

Everyone is talking about Elin right now, but I'm more concerned about the state of Popori.
