Although I'm willing to let this all slide because the game is really enjoyable, I've never been a fan of oversexualized women in games. Yeah, I'm a guy. I'm straight. I enjoy massive boobs and ghetto booties as much as anyone else. That doesn't mean I want the men to wear massive plate armor and look like real soldiers while women wear metal bikinies and high heels.
You cannot run in high heels. You cannot fight giant mystical creatures in forests, snow, swamps, muck, realms of darkness, and volcanoes in high heels. The female Aman are proof that this world is just a dream of the two giant gods because you DO NOT EVOLVE HIGH HEELS FOR FEET. I'm willing to let all this slide for cloth and even leather, but the whole point of heavy armor is to be well protected against attacks. That's hard to do when there's an open part over your heart, intestines, thighs, calfs, neck, and FACE.
What I'd love to see is simple- women in thick metal armor like the men. No stilleto heels. No metal bikinies. Realistic proportions. ffs, give me a chubby girl for a tank if you must, just don't make her an hourglass with soccer balls strapped to her upper torso wearing high heels and a thong! I'm not saying women can't be sexy in this game. You can have that, you can keep the giant breasts and nice butt and I will vote to keep it in as hard as I can. What I am saying it's possible to be just as attractive in heavy armor too, or armor in general that actually covers the body and not the parts that only curve with the rest of the girl. Hell, having my dragon babe dressed up in the heaviest plate armor around is pretty awesome looking to me. But unless I'm just not seeing all the armor choices it seems like 90% of the possible armor is the equivalent of what you'd wear to a beauty contest taking place on a California beach.
And it's not just this game. Every game coming out recently has been like this. Aion, Blade and Soul, Tera, I think Final Fantasy 14 but I can't be sure- they all have this notion that women have to be sexy and wear the dumbest outfits designed for COMBAT in order to appeal to the normal fanbase. And I get some women don't care about any of these, and I get this doesn't come up ingame and really shouldn't matter, but it just looks stupid to me to have games do this. Some games even go as far as to give the women really bad posture too, where they sort of lean back and curve their backs in unnatural ways with their left leg forward in order to exaggerate their breast size. basically if you can't stand like your character for as long as they can when you go to sleep at night and leave them afk, then they shouldn't be standing like that. I know a good amount of games- good games even- that don't always fall into this trap and allow women to be normally proportioned, wear full plate armor with no high heels, and still look great.
I'm weird I guess, but to me the ideal character of mine would be an overweight dragon babe with no heel claw in the back of her foot wearing metal plate armor that by all rights should be declared a war crime. Big, bulky, and invincible with her massive tower shield and possibly phallic lance in clawed, armored hands. The kind of 8 foot tall demonic monstrosity that you NEVER want to meet in a dark alley. Again, that's just me, you can have her thin and toned and still be sexy and intimidating. But right now I can't really take the characters seriously when the heaviest armored characters are a cat spirit and a golem.
I was just telling my friend the other day how my Castanic should have a bulge with equivalent physics.
I approve of this thread.
This is making me want to play Saint's Row: The Third...
THEY have a package slider AND I'm pretty sure it has it's own jiggle physics..
The male characters in Tera (at least the Castanics) are sexualized far more than in any other MMO I've ever played.
I fully support un-supported males. Jiggle physics for everyone!!!!
