So, Lime Odyssey can manage this, but...TERA?

While I'd like better creation too, the main thing I notice is that the graphics aren't even comparable. While Tera *is* stylized, it has detailed 3D models; this looks more like a drawing. I'm not saying the style is bad, I'm just saying the time, effort, and software involved are not the same. Not to mention the fact that all ears seem to come out of pretty much the same place on the head, whereas Tera's bunny ears and cat ears (for example) are not based in the same spot (aka. the whole original clipping concern).

Also, did this make anyone else think of a big-chested version of FF mithra/miqote?

Wait, this whole thread is about some crappy MMO having options to change your hair color and your ear color differently?

The engine tera uses won't let them easily make it seperatable without having a nightmare of development and tons of bugs to pop up

Why are you jealous of a clearly inferior game? If I didn't keep looking at the title I could've sworn I was looking at Eden Eternal, which blows this out of the water. Who cares if you can't change hair colors and ear colors?

Well, I care, I like being able to make my characters unique, but I guess that's asking for far too much.

Well, as far as look goes, I see no difference personally. And it would seem the OP should have been more specific about what they wanted to see done for TERA, regarding that game. Ive never tried making an Elin or a popori, but from what im reading here, you cant change ears/horns.etc and hair separately. That would indeed be a good add to the game for those who care about it.

But, idk if bad mouthing TERA because it doesnt have 1 things about it, that-- lets be honest, the other game probably builds its entire campaign around to get subscribers, is something we should do. Its made by one of my fav companies, but the gameplay in it is kind of choppy, and VERY similar to RO2: Legend of the second in features and style. That brought it's appeal down for most gravity followers id imagine.

Not only that (if it is true, I'm not very knowledgeable about UE3), there also comes a tradeoff between customization and performance for MMOs. The less character customization there is, the better it will run when you are loading player models, since you have 15 presets instead of 50 different possible combinations.

People are clearly grasping at straws over something to rage about.

Hmm... Arev makes a valid point, I keep forgetting not everyone has decent bandwidth, and there is quite a lot of customization already, I guess I was just thinking in the long run of things.

lol, christ guys~ You know how powerful a GPU is? It could have been 1 millon presets, the video card (should you have invested in a decent card since 2007 of you considering yourself an above avarage gamer), should be able to handle it! Makes no real difference if there is 15, 50, or 1 million setitngs. Yes, the more people(characters) and the more options to render does play its part. It's up to you, the player, to upgrade your machine with the equipment for the age of a particular game.

2nd: Who exactly do you(no one in particular!) think gets employed to make these games? College students? It's more or less people who know the engine well enough to be able to make ANY changes they see fit. And it is their JOB to make sure it works, otherwise, they wouldnt have a job, or out of one! A large portion of the truth comes down to money, and how much it will cost to add things, or change things. Which is why its usually in the devs best interest to do it right the 1st time! So, that's on them.

But saying something cant be done because " it's too hard to code", "too much options wont load well", " it would take too much time", or anything along those lines isnt looking at things realistically in the industry. It's their job to do it, and they paid money to be trained to do it, and do it well. Dont make escuses for someone/something else.
