When this game was first announced the devas were revealed as one of the playable races. At some point after that they were obviously turned into some sort of enemy race, which was mildly disappointing to me since they were my favorites by a small margin (I really like most of the races). Did they ever explain why they made that decision? If it was something like them not having enough time to do so many armor models then how likely would it be for them to be added later? I'm not that far in the game to know their full current lore so I'm not sure how reasonable it would be for some of them to fight for the "federation."
Castanics are a specific clan of Devas.
What about that Kaidun character from the Fraya's Fury quest, the one that got mutated and then freed. He looks like one of the Deva NPCs but he is clearly described as being on the federation side. I never was able to really place his race.
That's what it sorta looked like, but I wasnt entirely sure. I guess cause he didnt have one of those spikey horn things on the top of his head.
Now that you mention about the horns...
...
...
... He reminds me of the Lokian soldiers...
You don't have to be a Deva to follow Lok.
Castanics and Devas are not the same race. They were "sibling" races that both served the demon god Zuras, then some time after Zuras was defeated the Devas turned on the Castanics and drove them out of their homeland. Devas are larger than Castanics (more human/elf sized), have sharper horns and longer ears.
And bad backs... don't forget that.
