Oh, no. This is now the thread that we have to discuss the Elin in? In regards to at least a couple of the recently locked Elin threads, I don't understand why such measures were taken. For example, the one about the new armors that are coming out in a patch didn't seem to be that bad as far as I could tell. Who knows, though? What I do know is that people on both sides of the issue are conducting themselves in a terrible manner. Slinging names is not going to lead either side to the things they want to see.

Those who are against the censorship have every right to discuss their dissatisfaction because the edited outfits are more than disappointing, and we can only hope that those new beauties that are soon to be released in Korea won't be mutilated when they reach North American soil. It is not productive or necessary to hurl insults at people who are voicing their opinion just because you happen to disagree, and repeatedly making arguments about how we are making the same arguments is redundant and simply wastes your time.

On that same token, and this is for those on my side of the argument (anti-censorship), quite a few of you really need to learn some tact, too. Yes, this issue is frustrating, but attacking En Masse is going to get you nowhere but banned. Yes, people will troll you; ignore those ones. However, if someone legitimately disagrees with you without calling you hateful names and by bringing about their own reasons for their stance, they deserve a better response from you than some rude garbage. Forums are for discussion, not flame. If you are strongly against the censorship, but you can't express yourself in a coherent and polite manner, then maybe you should just agree with the opinions of others who can. If it really bothers you too much, then maybe you should quit the forums or the game entirely. I want to reach a compromise in this issue just like the rest of you. Realize, though, that we may never win happiness in regards to the issue. We do not own the game; we simply pay for the right to use it, and this is a battle that cannot be won with flame, expletives, or hatred. Diplomacy is really the only way to go here. Can't we all get back to discussion instead of mindless arguing?

The thread about the new armors started out fine but it quickly devolved into every few posts consisting of "I wonder how that (insert random insult or hyperbole comparison to some horrible regime here) EME is going to butcher these armors before they get to our version" once again hijacking another thread and turning it into a repeat censorship thread along with throwing insults at EME everytime they mention them. That's why it was locked.

Some of those armors have no pants so they'll be diaperfied when they come over here. A lot of the frustration was caused by the confusion of the edits and the lack of communication that was going on(other than the edits being 'final' for NA), ontop of the flaming from trolls and up-tighties throwing houlier-than-thou's around for the edits, and that en-masse declared elins as "little girls" in the way as such as declaring castanics for example "real life women". instead of being what they are, video-game characters they have been compared and subjected to being almost real-life.

Then when after more threads and polls were locked, then en-masse stated they will not do a thing about the armors, even when players asked for a better quality that didn't looked so trashed and fugly compared to the rest of the game.

Hmm I think this has been said before but since en-masse refuses to do anything about the armors there's a crazy dye-glitch bug that has occured due to the very editing at the first place. The two-tone dye fiasco that the stomach and diapers won't change colors. And now the feet are overlapped with out-placed dye color.

Those players have been left with the worst conveniences compared to the rest of game. Some of them had been players who waited years for TERA to hit the NA, myself included.

There had been a lot of witch-huntings that happened, accusations, and judgmental ignorance spread to game communities and cultures alike because some WoW players thought it was cool to throw around intolerance to things they've never seen before outside the WoW frame.

Another key-point dispute anime being a 4.2 million industry in the US and by no means an unknown media, there were those and even en-masse themselves who considered such players as a "niche market" or a "minority" to be over-looked. Quiet sadly however these were one of your first players to have even heard of Tera when it was foreign to the WoW protocols. They were also some of the more hard-core type players as well.

Well, I wouldn't call it hijacking because the theme of the post seemed to be, "Yes, you're upset about the censor, but look at these babies!" I think Destian was trying to give us some consolation for our disappointment about the censors, and I did feel better knowing that those excellent outfits are on the way. However, there is a real threat that ugly censors will be added to a few those armors even though most of the dresses are longer (I really only care when the censor is blatantly obvious, such as some of the cloth outfits that had mismatched shorts added along with strange abdomen covers), anyway. I hope they don't censor them, but I wouldn't go so far as to compare En Masse to a regime for the censorship. Instead, they're just a rookie company (despite the NCSoft background) who are probably trying hard to make the next WoW-killer. I settle the blame somewhere between the majority Western culture's misunderstanding of Asian games and En Masse's alarmist attitude based on silly premonitions about Westerners.

Well, EME deserves the crap they get.

There has been countless "Everyone wins" ideas given, but they refuse to appeal to the whole of America, and just want their small niche of shorts-lovers to buy the game.

They can sell more. They can stop the Elin threads. And they refuse both, and there is no other reason than them being a terrible company.

Any good company would want to sell more and have happier customers. But not EME. Which is why I can't call them good.

i issue a challenge to the pro-censor movement to censor this:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/mambo1935/152382691/

there's nothing evil about nudity in it of itself. it's a matter of perspective. the elin aren't nude. furthermore, there aren't real, nor do they resemble children. they more or less resemble the vast majority of flat-chested ladies i see at university, with the head of an anime character. massive breasted ladies are in very short supply. boobs do not amount to age.
i happen to be more attracted to cute than hot.

i was hoping to play this game, but not when it feels like my principles have been spat on. i'm approaching this title in the same way that i approach the anime i watch. if it's unbutchered, with a good effort to translate it literally, then it deserves the investment.

it appears that EME is uncompromising. they've bent for one side and ignore the other. that there is a way to satisfy both parties, and they haven't taken it, irks me. i do not reward$ such behavior.

alright, well... i have to go outline my philosophy essay. it's on moral relativity. remarkably coincidental, yet a true story...

I'm not asking anyone to justify their frustrations; I'm frustrated about the lack of communication, the mismatched dyes, the trolls who can't come up with any reason that someone would want the censor removed aside from their being a certain p-word, and shoving lovers of Asian media into the corner. However, when someone starts trolling against our views, I'm suggesting that we don't wad up those frustrations into the longest, nastiest, most derogatory curse word that we can think of and then unleash it for all of the forums to see. That kind of behavior gets plenty of threads locked, and when we insult others, or even go so far as to insult the company that's responsible for licensing and localizing the game here in North America, it can't be helpful to our cause one bit. Being hateful, snarky, or trolling others only makes us look bad in the eyes of the community and forum moderators which leads them to be more cautious in their decision about whether or not to lock threads.

It took me more time to edit this picture then it took all of Bluehole to make the Elin censor pants.
