Very interesting. I like how you flesh out the quests so they seem more realistic than 10 minutes of fighting. I'd be interested to read more about Anareh's character, like the things she left behind in Pora Elinu and how she feels about coming to Dawn, or what her hopes for the future are.
Thank you very much for your review! I'll definitely keep those things in mind as I continue writing. I've honestly kind of avoided writing much about Pora Elinu as I don't know much about it apart from the Lore I found on this site. If you have any other links that describe it that would be very helpful to me. This is my first character as I didn't go through Beta so Island of Dawn and Velika are all I've seen so far.
I enjoyed reading your journal, Anareh.
Thanks for reading Onizel! :)
That's really cool. I've never heard of livejournal before but I really like how you're using it. I'm currently not playing TERA, but have decided that after I build a PC this summer I'll be getting it, so now I'm trying to figure out a server to play on. I'm excited about the idea of RPing in this game, and I may try it out when I get the game in a couple of months.
BTW, I was also reading some of your FFXI posts. I played for a couple of years quite awhile ago. Quitting it was very difficult for me as well, so your experience with quitting the game and how it affected you really struck a chord with me.
But yes, I really liked your posts. Hope to keep seeing them in the future!
I'll definitely keep that in mind. And also try to keep up with your journals. Do you openly RP with people on Dragonfall even though it isn't an RP server? Or do you just write about it?
Not generally, on Dragonfall I usually only focus on PVE content with some of my friends. I have two other friends who I RPed with initially on Dragonfall but our general consensus was that we'd all just create alternate-universe versions of our characters that we want to RP and put them on Celestial Hills when the server was ((finally)) released. Since I am focusing on reaching endgame with my Dragonfall character, I generally find it's more relaxing to just switch to my Celestial Hills character and RP there.
I'm definitely not opposed to RPing on Dragonfall but I haven't heavily looked for others to RP with on that server.
The screenshots featured on Anareh's journal are mostly taken on her alternate-universe self on Celestial Hills. Doing this kind of allows me to enjoy both of my main goals at once; I get to level quickly but still pay close attention to the storyline/content that I probably just breezed through the first time to get quests done faster. It also allows me to make connections between story lines in the game when I completely missed an NPC's connection to something the first go-around.
I feel like my response was way longer than it needed to be so condensed answer:
No, generally I don't RP on Dragonfall and leave my RPing to take place on Celestial Hills and in my writing.
Longer posts are always nice. They give you more information which is exactly what I'm looking for, so I thank you for that.
And ya, that clears up some questions for me. I had the impression that you were RPing pretty openly on a PVE server, so it made me wonder if RPing on a non-RP was common and/or accepted well. But your answer helps me out a good bit.
