I'm not an RPer by any means, but walking animations are a must have.
My thoughts behind being able to walk is more for Machinima. I strongly believe that machinima can play an important role in the lifespan of any game. It really is a "build it and they will come" attitude in terms of building it being more a provide the tools to build it sort of way.

It's just so... awkward having to run everywhere, you know? The walk animation would help not only for fixing the issue of, "____ walks into the bar" and having the character charge in as if they're going to knock everything over, but also simply for positioning. I'll try to line up next to my guildmates and spend a good 30 seconds trying to line my character up perfectly by going back and forth.
Plus, if it exists in the first place, is there ANY reason not to have it? Really. I heard the argument before, and I don't know if it's still an argument, that it doesn't affect the combat at all. Same reason they didn't initially have a sit function. My response? Why do we have any emotions? :|
The walk animation is really all I want in this game at the moment. Just one little toggle key. Like z or something. It doesn't sound like it'd be that hard. :x
