Unofficial RP-PvP (Jagged Coast)

Being a long time RPer and what not I think it would be good to establish an unofficial RP-PvP server for those of us that enjoy that style of play. Since En Masse hasn't given us an official server.

Jagged Coast seemed optimal since it seems it is going to have a decent community going off the beta and the coordination happening in the PvP forums.

We won't have specific server time regions (ex. East Coast/West Coast) and all the servers are located in Chicago. So there are no restraints on which to choose there.

My guild and I plan on rolling Jagged Coast and have seen other RP-PvP guilds doing the same. So come join us. So if your in support of this throw a post below and let us know what guild you are apart of. Or send me a PM with your guild name and even your guilds website and I will link it here as well, like below.

Guilds:

  • Kindred Rising

  • EDIT:

Yep. The poll is done and BC was voted the Unofficial Server. See these threads for the RP-PvP community coordination.

Jagged Coast is where ALL the cool, hip roleplayers will go. Being a factionless game and given the PVP system (nevermind the political), we have some real potential for a player driven world. And Kindred Rising will be there to stir the pot.

meh, idk why all the rpers just don't go to celestial hills for now. EME already stated that they would test the population of that server to decide if they would add another one. If the RP community is split up like this it really won't put on a good show for EME and there pretty much goes the chance for an actual RP-PVP server in the long run >.>

I have a good feeling about this.

No guild yet, will be keeping an eye out for a quality guild that is active in the Aussie timezone.

I would rather just have all the RPers go to Celestial hill, and do back-to-back GvGs on each other, so we can all have a nice big cohesive RP environment.
    (Also to avoid griefing.)

I'm sure I'll end up playing on both (Jagged Coast and Celestial Hill).

I'll be using my early start on JC though.

Jagged Coast has already got a decent community. Its established, there are already Guilds at war with each other.

There is nothing stopping us from doing back to back GvG's on each other with Jagged Coast. Griefing will not be avoided...it happens on all RP servers I have been on regardless of it being a official or unofficial server...I think more so when its official.

I have seen others state Jagged as the unofficial server and thought it would be a good idea to globalize that. RP communities in other games don't survive because we are split between servers. This has happened in many games before, specifically games with more then one official RP server.

I hope that we can all just agree on the server as the only difference is the name and continue on and make the server a great place for RPers and non RPers a like (mature community).

But why would you need to GvG on a PvP server?

I said do back-to-back GvGs so that you could simulate OW PvP with PvPRP guilds while still being on an official RP server. .___.

Y'know.. To not split the community..

Well for one, Celestial Hills is a PvE server. For RP-PvEers. En Masse didn't provide us with an RP-PvP server so this is what this is for. I for one am a huge PvP fan and doing GvG's is not the only PvP I like to have. Not to mention GvG isn't even on the PvE server right now (last I heard).

This is for those people that enjoy this play style. Celestial Hills is going to be great for the PvE crowd that enjoy RP. Jagged Coast is our solution for RP-PvP.

There will always be a split between RP-PvPers and RP-PvEers, nothing can be done about that. Since you can't ask me to accept an RP environment without brutal OW PvP. I won't ask you to accept an environment that has that.

Without an at-launch RP-PvP, it's up to the community to compensate. Having a welcoming community for roleplay on a dedicated PVP server is a logical step to take. If you won't roll on it, that's your prerogative, and it won't harm you either way. Establishing a strong, mature, community early on is integral to having a lasting server and game. The more that can be done to maximize the potential for one on Jagged Coast, the better for everyone.
