Ran into these fine fellows, who are apparently slightly elitist. Got kicked not once, but twice from their group, which means they went through the entire list of dps who were queued solo for ToT. Now I understand, they wanted to try and get all three bosses down, but this seems a bit much. Is this an accurate representation of the server or just one guild?
I'm not angry or anything, just passing time in queue to hopefully get into their group once again :P
After grilling my members, there is a reason why you were kicked. The policy in our guild is that cross-server people may be kicked, but if the pug is from our own server, they are not to be kicked.
It pretty much means if you're cross server you'll be inspected, but if you're from Serpentris, you'll not be inspected-- in fact, you'll just run with us. That means that if a lesser geared person from Serpentris came in after you were kicked (you're from Blightwood I believe), that the Serpentris person would not be kicked under any circumstances.
So, bad on you for being in Blightwood. Come be on our server, it's better.

Clearly they have a high enough ilevel to join the instance matcher as the game decides this for us.

Im a new 60, I have the item level to do the 60 instances, but the reason I haven't yet is because of stories like this, where people are kicked for not having high enough gear.
Where else are new 60's supposed to get it from?
Im from serpentis Isle and I love the server, but I dont approve of this behavior at all.
Everyone deserves a fair chance and the reason most people will use the instance matcher is because they are not in a guild to run these instances.
So, how about being a little more patient with players from other servers and show them why we are known for being a great server with great players, rather than dragging our good name down!

uhh bc some of the lvl 60 dungeons require a certain item lvl even if "EME" thinks you can do it you wont be able to. Try doing Fane HM with jus the min item lvl and see if you can even get the first boss down. If you havnt ran a single lvl 60 dungeon than theres no point in you replying

I guess the confusing thing with this thread is, Brizz says they'll carry anyone from SI, but not from other servers. I think that's the part that needs clearing up, so more people can understand what exactly went on.
Brizzy has always seemed pretty decent, so I'm going to chalk it up to poor wording for the time being = )
Hopefully that rule will change and people from other servers will start being viewed as humans who deserve the same respect/chance as people on SI, even if they can't vote.

Exactly as Serenity put it. Certain instances demand certain things. People from other servers will not be carried, while people from SI will be. This rule is in place because of Dragonfall, for the most part. I don't think it's elitist in the slightest, seeing as how we would accept anyone from our server with min item level. I view it more as a way of not wiping a handful of times because some pug from another server refuses to communicate or in others ways is insubordinate and causes a wipe. Granted, this bloke here from Blightwood may have been criticized for his gear a bit too much, and that has been fixed.
Though, you're free to call us elitist all you'd like, because if you do, it falls on deaf ears. We help people lower level than us with BAMs all day long, we give out catharnacs to guilds that want to try out a vanarchy or even get to level three-- or hell, we're the only vanarch that hosts three events in one term. Our guild brings people from SI into instances and teaches them Kaprima and Balders, and wipes multiple times. After all, elitists do these things. With all the things we've done in the community here, it makes me ashamed that a small error would suddenly throw the positive meter down so hard that we're in a well.
Edit: And Dilemma, if you contact me in-game, we'll run you through an instance. It's not that hard, and we've three-manned Kaprima and Balders.
