I heard about Tera when it was going through beta in Korea and then afterwards it got pushed to the back of my mind. Then I randomly remembered it and decided to see if there were streams of it. Learned that is was finally coming to the US and then preordered on like the last day of cbt1.

I learned about TERA a couple months ago when a friend posted about it on facebook and asked if I'd be playing. I wasn't initially interested, but after I found out that more of my friends were going to pre-order, I decided to look up some videos, and saw that the game play was reminiscent of the Monster Hunter series, which I totally adore.

I started during CBT2, and have since decided to join my friends here on SI.

About a year ago my fiance and I were starting to feel burnt out on WoW and started looking up videos and info on new mmos that were going to be released soonish. I remember seeing the Tera trailer and I was like Squee! It looks awesome!

So time passed and we got distracted by other shiny things like Rift (bleh) and a good chunk of out guild left WoW to try out SWTOR and we've been messing with that since launch but... It just doesn't feel right.

So! I had "liked" Tera's facebook way back when and forgotten all about it! =-[ A friend saw that I liked it and was like "HEY YOU! Did you know there's a beta and you can play it?"

BU-bu-whaaaa? So I went into the beta a little hesitant, nervous about this new play style for me... but WOW! That's all I could think while playing- WOW! This is awesome! I love this!
The rest is history because withing 10 minutes of playing I was like "WANTS NOW KTHNX!"

I'm so excited for Tera! Im hoping to make this my home for a long time! I can't wait to watch the game grow ^_^

Sadly I haven't known about TERA for too long, but thanks to finding out about it late, I didn't have too much time to wait for things to really start to heat up ;D

Maybe a week or two (or three) ago my friend from Minecraft was like, "Me and my boyfriend are playing this beta, you should totally check it out." I mean, she said more than that, but that was the gist of it. I wasn't too interested at first, because it sounded like any other expensive MMO game that was out when she described it to me. When I was finally bored enough to check it out, I flipped [filtered]. It was the best thing since sliced bread (imo) after that. XD

What really drew me in was the "True Action" that they kept speaking of. As soon as I saw some game play, my mind was immediately blown, I couldn't believe how amazing the game itself, and it's controls, were.

I haven't been playing MMO's for too long, so I feel lucky to have stumbled upon one like TERA. I think I'll be playing for a veeery long time ;3

Especially when the majority of the community is so civil and kind. :>
It's nice to see so many familiar faces on the forums btw, Liandreth, so don't worry, I don't think anyone will be getting sick of you any time soon! ^ - ^

It is a pretty good community, and I'm glad no one is sick of me yet. I've got a few more ideas for threads!

Several of my MMO friends recommended this game plus my recent SWTOR account cancellation.

This is the next stop on a long road for me. What inevitably brings me to a new MMO is my (former) favorite one changing in big ways I don't like. I like to find a game I can settle into for a few years, but they feel hard to come by these days. I try to stay current on what's coming up in the MMO-verse, and of all the titles +/- 2 years, this one had the most promise for me.

My last great hope was Warhammer Online; I beta tested that for nearly a year trying to make myself believe it would be great at release. Talk about a heartbreaker. I was looking forward to the 40k MMO, but... yea. Prior to that, I'd desperately wanted to make one of the Ultima Online sequels my home. Lots of anticipation, lots of letdowns.
