Hey, Good work Nalfen.
I wish I would have had this type of guide for the Marauder class when I started SWtor.
Now you can also say it would be safer to play the Warrior class if you suck too. That way you can just chalk your bad play up to the hard to play class. If you play an easy class and suck you have no excuses. lol.
I like playing classes that are the hard because not many people will play them so you'll be more unique.
The harder to play classes usually have more utilities, which means when played well, you can give the other classes fits. They don't know exactly which move you'll be using.
And finally, they force you to be a better player or rage quit.
Heh, ya, what really is an RP server? Do you need a special server to Roll Play? Are you going to get kicked from the server is you don't RP? Aren't we really RPing by playing this game?
What a waste of a server.
Hard Core Server or Bust! I'm all for that, then I don't have to listen too all the crying on my server.
The big meanie came and wreaked my face and I'm just trying to finish my quest, oh, boo hoo...
Get the Hell off my server!
Hard Core Vote Here.
That's why I said it was my Wish list, I know they would never do this, but I hope someday someone would.
I'd be happy if they flagged everyone, with only major cities being safe zones, and gave you on par loot with PVE and War Zones for killing high end players.
Also one thing that helped in WOW for World PVP was being able to gank lowbies anywhere. This made them mad and they would get on their main and/or tell there friends and you would have a fight on your hands. Take away lowbie ganking and that all goes away.
It's so funny to me to see people rage on a PVP server. I just shake my head and wonder why they would roll on that server if they wanted to be safe. People like that actually mess it up for all the PVPers because if they stayed off those servers more real PVPers would be put on the same server. Otherwise it just spreads us all out.
Because of this they need to get rolled now and then.
Battle Grounds or War Zones rewards coupled with PVE rewards kill OWPVP every time.
1.) You need to give people a chance to get on par PVE gear for OWPVPing
2.) No Battle Grounds. All those games should be OW games.
3.) No token system. Everyone that helps kill someone gets to roll on a chance to get the level gear of that player Killed. Sometimes you may roll up a epic item.
What stops low-level ganking? Certainly not me. If you're on my PVP server, get use to it punk!
Jail. If a guild groups together and kills all the guards in a half an hour (because guards should not respawn right away) you'll receive a cuffs button on your bar, anyone you can get down to 10% health you can cuff, they will then follow.
At that point, if you have someone in the group in the jail, they will be able to lock you up. At that point ther are two ways of getting freed. Either by someone killing the jailer or waiting 20 minutes.
At 30 minutes re-enforcement troops show up and the guard count doubles. Every 30 minutes, if you keep beating the guards down, it doubles again.
This would work on a Hard Core PVP server, but people on regular PVP servers would cry.
I think that a Hardcore server would be just what World PVPers have been waiting for.
Myself, I keep switching MMO's because World PVP is almost non-existent and the endgame is terrible.
Why hasn't anyone looked at other games and taken the best of world PVP from them.
My wish list for a Hard core server:
1.) No one is safe anywhere, you're flagged 24/7. (Except maybe in the crafting area)
2.) Guards. Towns and cities will have guards, more guards for bigger cities. If you are ganking someone in those places, you will aggro the guards. the more people you gank in a town, the more angry the guards get and the longer they attacking you on sight.
3.) Jail. Every 30 minutes, if you keep beating the guards down, it doubles.
4.) Player kill. You get 20% of the gold on them and a random computer roll for an item. Item level depends on killed players level, Professor Plums have a chance to drop as well, and sometimes a collectible or trophy if you will, like a squishy ear or something with that persons name and level.
5.) Titles. Your titles will change from time to time. Example: Let's say you kill 5 lowbies in an hour, you might get the title of Bully for an hour, or you kill 100 lowbies in one day an get the title of Mass Murder for a week.
6.) Speaking of Lowbies. Look, you're on a Hardcore server, it's suppose to be hard to get to max level. Stay off the server if you're afraid of getting camped.
7.) Assassin for Hire. Lowbies, make a post in your city, label a player, offer a reward. Pay some max level thug to axe your problems. When bounty is claimed on the board in town, money exchange is in your mail. Hunter gets an achievement, lowbie gets a body part with the hunted's name on it. See I don't hate Lowbies.
8.) Sacking Cities. When you capture a city, you can loot the banks. Though the bank depending on gear may take anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes to burn down, and at 30 minutes you know re-enforcements will be there. Get the vault open in time and roll out about from 5-20 random items depending on the size of the town. Oh you will get money too. You will get a percentage of money, say 20% for the group of the highest bank account in the town. That person will not lose any money from their account as to keep people investing in smaller banks and a chance to find out what town a gold farmer may stash his stuff.
9.) End Game: Hate will drive end game, but to make it a bit sweeter, lets have places around the world especially quest areas that might have a trap. Example: you're walking along a ridge, you see a bunch of logging trees stacked up with a rope holding them together. You notice you can click on it. Then you look down and see someone doing their daily quests. "Click" and with a rumble, here come the logs. Your daily quest may turn into death if you not paying attention.
10.) Do away with War Zones or Battle Grounds, make those things happen in the open world, otherwise that's all people will be doing.
