Ok, level 20 berserker here.

Last night I was soloing a lvl 20 Basilisk, having a good time ... BOOM ... dead ... 'Oh a level 60 outlaw Sorc from [Outlaw Federation], np, rez at Lumbertown switch channel.

Ok, soloing a Basilisk again in channel 3, a red message appear ' XXX has slain XXX', hmm this name looks familiar ... BAAAM .. dead again ... 'Ok fine, rez again ...'

Got a Priest to duo a Basilisk again, channel 4, talking to NPC ... a red circle appears on the ground ... dead again ...

Killing ppl 40 levels below you once or twice for self-satisfaction is not a big deal on a PvP server IMO, but doing so repeatedly/intentionally is hindering their leveling/ruining their gaming experience.

Luckily, before I logged off for the night, two guys from [Vagrant] were channel switching to hunt the outlaw, they assured to protect the lowbies in the channel they were in.

THANK YOU,

Tru.X

P.S. Rohwan, if I got your name correct, thanks for offering to help, even though u were lvl 20 as well.
P.S.S. That outlaw is on my block list, when I get to level 60, be certain I will look for him/her.

Recently it has become a more common occurrence but I have never been ganked once by a higher level player while questing. I would say however that now many people are 60 that they would be more prone to do it.

Unfortunately, this is fairly common. I personally don't understand it but when you think about it it's not very different from other MMOs. At least in Tera there's infamy points which act as a deterrent for most.

There's a few 10k infamy guilds on the server though so you just have to watch out.

If you keep some things in mind it shouldn't be too bad getting to 60:

  • Don't hang out in channel 1. I know you said you were in channel 3 and 4.
  • Keep an eye on your surroundings. If you see them coming, sometimes you can run to a safe zone. There's one near the teleportal for the dungeon close to the basilisks.
  • Don't be afraid to change zone or run a dungeon if you're being farmed.
  • Join a guild with high levels that can come help. Often, lowbie killers will flee when high levels show up.

Honestly, this is the cost of levelling on a PvP server. Don't let it get to you. ;)

We were happy to be of service! Fortunately, we were able to assist many lower-level players in the area who were also being griefed by this Sorceror and several other higher-level outlaws. Expect more of this from [Vagrant] as we serve to protect players from PK's so they can level in peace.

If you're interested in joining the cause, you can find out more about us as well as apply to the guild on our website at www.vagrantguild.com
