Welcome to the beginning of the political system in TERA!

Starting today, TERA players who meet certain requirements can register as candidates for vanarch. It's not always easy to convince everyone to vote for you instead of your esteemed opponents, though, so we'd like to provide you with a place to discuss your plans, make campaign promises, and show that you are the best-suited character to become a vanarch.

Think of this thread as a televised debate. Everyone's eyes are on you and they're eager to hear what you have to say. They're all waiting for you to assure them you are their champion, and that you will work to make their lives better in TERA!

So if you are a vanarch candidate on Valley of Titans, give a short introduction of yourself and your vanarchy platform. Heck, start an actual debate if you like. Has another candidate said that good vanarchs should look after their guild first? State why you think that's a bad idea! Do you think declaring war against a smaller guild is great way to promote PvP? Make a stance! The people deserve to know what you believe in. If you aren't running this time, this is an excellent opportunity to find out about the candidate to make an informed choice!

Better yet, challenge the other candidates with your own questions! This is a public debate! Here are some sample questions you can use as a starting point for political discussion:

• What are your priorities for using policy points? Skill trainers? Specialty stores? Raise or lower tax rates first?
  
• What would be your agenda as a vanarch? How do you plan to enact this agenda? With force? With rewards? Will your guild members help with enforcement?
  
• How do you plan to receive feedback or questions on your rule?
  
• If a conflict arises between what's best for the province and what's best for your guild, what will you do?
  
• What makes you the best candidate?

Feel free to address other candidates directly and answer their questions, but please remember to follow the official TERA forum rules. Hello, my name is Devour and I represent Aphotic Gaming (in game known as A P H O T I C). We have numerous ideas and plans if we are elected as Vanarch. Which we will detail in the post below. Before we divulge into any of these detailed topics we would like to give you a brief introduction of our guild.

Aphotic is a PvP guild that had its roots in Aion and has now sunk its teeth into TERA. We lead the only Asmodian faction to dominate abyss PvP across all NA servers and have played a pivotal role in ensuring that Valley of Titans would be the most competitive PvP server in TERA. We showed a willingness to work extensively with other like minded guilds which we continue to do in Tera. Another thing to keep in mind is that while I, Devour, may be writing this post and running for Vanarch, we run Aphotic as a Council. This means that whenever a decision needs to be made it is done with the consensus of all of our council members.

Here are a few of our plans and ideas we would like to implement if we are elected as Vanarch.

First and foremost we will be using policy points to promote PvP in our region. To do this we will open all skill trainers, vendors, trade brokers, and specialty stores so people don't have to leave our region to continue the fight. We feel like all of the player base should have access to these "life lines" at all times because they help make playing the game easier and bring a lot of functionality to each province. We would like to have all these things open and able to be used at all times because it creates less hardship on the players and is also convenient.

Our goal will always be to promote PvP and create a PvP rich environment. We plan on keeping PvP open in whichever zone we are elected in at all times because you as a player chose to roll on a PvP server and should be able to benefit from your choice. We do not promote a griefing environment and we will help promote this by aiding any player that is being griefed by a group of other players. We will try our best to keep our province in peak PvP condition, and we will supply plenty of willing and eager PvPers to our zone (namely our guild). We will also use the proceeds we gain through taxation to fund a Death Match tournament near the end of our reign in which all max level characters will be able to participate in. The winning team will get the entire pot of the money we gain from taxes.

Aphotic Gaming has a well developed website with an extremely active forum community. Our gaming community is very large and we will have a forum dedicated to political topics that arise in Tera. This forum will be open to anyone that has suggestions or feedback. We also will be communicating with other guilds via emails and IRC. We have plenty of social media so that the community can always be in touch with us.

We believe what is best for our province is an enriched PvP environment. With our guild being focused on PvP we feel as though the things that are best for our province are also best for our guild, and the server as a whole. If an issue does arise we will obviously put the province and its inhabitants ahead of our own guild.

I feel like our focus on PvP and constant drive to be the best and excel in everything we do will help benefit the entire TERA community on Valley of Titans. We want to help bring the best gaming experience to everyone and make sure that this community stays healthy.

We understand there are a lot of guilds to choose from in terms of voting but please ask yourself these questions before you cast your vote. Who is one of the most organized and well known guilds on the server? What guild has shown a professional attitude in the community? I am sure that even with the amount of trolling our guild has been subjected to we have come forward and shown a professional attitude. I do not think other guilds can show this amount of professionalism. If you would like this server to flourish and become bigger, and even better vote for Aphotic and I promise we will try our best to serve the public to the best of our ability.

Hello, my name is Aimace, at least in the game, haha.

Though I am not currently eligible for a vanarch position, I am planning to run for vanarch ASAP. I am a leader of a relatively small guild, but I have an extensive MMORPG experience, and am planning to not necessarily have the strongest guild, but instead to create a fun atmosphere and environment for the entire server to play in.

As I am not currently running for vanarch, I will not post too much, instead I will say that I am planning to take Island of Dawn, and make things as easy as possible for beginner players, and re-rollers alike.

ePeen's Candidacy

ePeen will be running for Vanarch on Valley of Titans. Our guild as some of you may know is an endgame focused guild with PvP being our main focus. ePeen is a long term guild, run by Psypher and myself, we both have a very decorated history in all game types especially MMOs. We are consistently top ranked players wherever we play and that will not change in Tera. I think the easiest way to sum us up will be to simply give you our mission statement. Our guild name may give the impression that the guild is full of teens, but the fact is the entire ePeen community is full of grown [filtered] men with real careers and real business knowledge. We run the ePeen organization like a business. Our candidacy will be no different.


ePeen's Mission Statement

ePeen will join the ranks of the most competitive guilds in Tera; our goal is to clear all end-game content, dominate the Player vs. Player environment, and control the server economy. This will be accomplished while maintaining an extremely lean and active roster of players dedicated to exceeding the gaming standards of the Tera community.

Some guilds talk about what they have accomplished in previous games, ePeen has the press to back it up. One of our previous en-devours was a skill based FPSMMO called Global Agenda. We picked up the world first AvA win as we dominated the competition and coasted to victory. We were featured on many popular gaming websites.

The leadership of this guild has been together since SWG way back in 2003. The core foundation that is currently playing has been around for the last 4 years. We are a well established community that continues to breed success.


ePeen's Platform

If elected ePeen will always have PvP enabled. Everyone that is on this server picked to join a PvP server and we do not believe we should interfere with that in any way. Our vendors will always be enabled. The specialty shop, trainers and auction house will never be down. These services are all very important to game play and quite frankly it’s frustrating to have to move to another hub or city to get access to these essential services. Our taxes will be kept low in whatever zone we are elected into, we are not looking to make bank off of our election.

As a side note I have no doubt that a lot of guilds will stand up and tell you that they are the honorable stand up guild that you should vote in for Vanarch. The reality of the situation however is quite different. Of the guilds that hit endgame rapidly in this game I can count on one hand how many did not swap their guild leadership to a level one alt. Decisions like this not only display weak leadership but it gives you an insight into how these leaders make their decisions. Our organization will never be running with a level 1 guild leader. Attempting to break the system, regardless of how flawed it is, to win easier in PvP should not be tolerated by the community.

Another thing to consider when looking at the ePeen organization is our size. We maintain a lean roster of active players only. We are not a 100+ man zerg, we are a very small guild with a lot of desire to be the underdog. Our roster is under 50 players but those players are reliable people ready to answer the horn of Gondor when battle begins. Some guilds sit in safe zones and avoid conflict if they are out manned. Not this crew, we come to battle, and battle doesn’t happen in the safe zones. Many of the large guilds prefer dropping wars on us for that reason, we are going to fight. Every guild has weak links, we just keep ours to a minimum.

So this election day ask yourself, am I going to vote for the zerg guild that moves their guild lead to lvl 1 alts every time they go to war? No, you vote for the underdog that is going to get things done and doesn't back down in the face of the many zerg guilds we currently have on this server.
