Hello everyone.

I failed to spread the word on this aspect of our vanarchy - but I will explain it here.

We promised to try and host a PVP tournament for everyone to enjoy with our profits from Vanarchy, so this is where I will be posting our financials so that you can see just how much of our profits we put into it.

To show everyone what we are putting into it, we are running a transparent vanarchy, showing you our earnings and what we do with them.



First day of vanarchy we earned 571 gold in Val Palrada with 1% taxes on everything for the majority of the day, switching everything but specialty shops and gen vendor to 3% with a couple hours left before the bank earnings came in.

Thanks everyone, if you have any ideas of what else I could include or share please feel free to let me know. I hope we can start pulling in a bit more of a profit because at this pace it seems like there may only be just 1 large scale tournament that we could have during our vanarchy.

Reason for lower amount - possibly due to it not being on the weekend, or the taxes but unlikely, or just guildies not spending as much there.

Tax for the day: 5% general, 1% specialty, 8% all others
Reasoning?: I think its mostly due to it being mid week and people just not being on as much.. I really don't think the tax rate had an effect on it. Due to my curiosity I am going to run with 15% on teleportal/flight - I doubt it would make much of a difference but just interested to see.

My feelings at the moment on Vanarch are that I don't think it is worth the investment unless you get one of the top 5 areas - which on our server pretty much go to the 4chan guilds that do 0 work for it. It is upsetting to say the least, but at this rate I don't feel we will go for another vanarchy through the voting system, we'd rather take it by force. There is a lot of work that goes into this that you need to depend on your guild for, I've farmed ~3-4k policy points on my own but the majority comes from my guild.

Definitely looks as though it is the weekend that contributes to the inflated numbers, not just the initial guild contribution to merchants when we won. That's a good sign, but I still stick to my claim that this was definitely not worth the effort put in especially when the 4-6 zerg guilds all just had a monopoly over vanarchy and basically did nothing to win.
Taxes this time around were 5% general, 8% crystal,5% skill, 10% flight and tele, 1% specialty.

Earnings went to Tournament: 5000g - given to sponsor the Will Not Fix Tournament this weekend.
Earnings to make up for payment: 3000g

Profit% Taken by WP: 28%

Also, by the time we made enough to make up for the 3K paid and the 5000 for the tournament all taxes went to 1% for the remainder of our vanarchy.

Good idea poets... as a player I'm interested to see how much money guild's make as Vanarch's and being transparent is classy on your part. I hope you continue this thread with as much information as possible.

It's definitely no where near how much Balder's Refuge / Zulfikar / Kanstria make.. but I guess it gives a decent picture of how much you can make and what you could do with it.

Those zones with 15% on everything though definitely rake in a lot.

This is a great idea and I might steal it from you Akujik! Some guilds are able to secure seats without relying on neutral votes and feel safe in having ridiculous tax rates.

In our last Vanarchy we spent more on the public events we put together than we made in taxes. It's great to see other guilds taking that approach.

Looking forward to the tournament. That's why you guys got my vote. Also looking forward to seeing exactly how much gold vanarchs end up with.

Yeah at this rate it looks like there will be just 1 tournament towards the end of the vanarchy.. I thought there'd be more of an income but we didn't get too great of an area.

I want a huge prize so we can bring everyone out rather than just 2-3 of the guilds that love to pvp and practice all the time.. and because of that I want to have a prize pool of at least over 20k
