This really seems like PvP programming 101, common knowledge. I left this game for about half a year and came back recently and have been testing out battlegrounds and its really quite sad because you should never be able to be stun locked from 100% to 0% health. Not sure how that's supposed to make players enjoy their experience.

Look into hiring someone with MMORPG PvP knowledge, maybe someone who worked on Dark Age Of Camelot. I think Crowd Control immunity timers was one of the first things that was added to balance pvp.

Or at the very least play one round of a Battleground and you will know whats wrong.

Try to kill full VM+12 priest without stun locking from 100 to 0.

You are right, there is a greater flaw than stun lock itself. I guess they know if they fix stun lock then no one would die and they would make it blatantly obvious that their game has balance issues.

The only reason gearing up in WOW takes so long is because that is the end game. Some people don't find it fun.

However where I think they went wrong is making gear so linear. Everyone is working to obtain the same crap and there isn't much of a selection. The enchanting is not helping this either. Base gear needs to vary more than it does and there needs to be a lot more of it.
I am one to believe that PVP and PVE should go hand in hand but after getting 60 its like I hardly have time to PvP because of the need to PvE to get my gear set up.

The actual problem is not that I have to do this but that everyone else believes that they must get their gear max enchanted, so hardly anyone is actually pvping.

It's a bit time consuming. If I didn't have to rely so much on other players to do 5mans it would probably not be as bad.

well you didnt get a poop glyph...
So does this mean if you run out of stamina then you cant block or does it revert back to Mana.

Sounds like they are nerfing blocking since there will be non spells/potions to regen stamina.

Oh wait it's because most console games don't play like PC games.

Oh wait, neither does Tera.

and that is the point, this game does not play like other MMORPGs which waters down their whole argument.

Just because you played with a sucky controller player doesnt mean we should all be lumped into the same category. Suckiness can not be explained so easily.

I didn't make it out to be a "GREAT" difference. I'm not the OP who said controller users should be disabled from LFD.

I said that the difference was simple, obvious, objective, empirical, irrefutable, and at the extreme degrees of PvP, the difference is actually significant. I never said it was a "huge" difference for TERA lolPvE.

Well you did post the link on controller users getting wrecked by mouse and keyboard.

I do agree that the mouse and keyboard offer quicker more accurate targeting though it feels nothing like the disadvantage I have when I play a shooter on a console over a shooter on a pc. In the shooter category the disadvantage is pretty clear but because it feels as if this game is a meld between two types of games it actually works and is enjoyable.

I will however reveal one issue with the controller that may be unclear. The joystick which takes over the WASD (back forward left right) does not in fact allow for more than 8 directions as some have stated and I clearly believe they should look into this and upgrade it to 360 degrees. If they did this then there would be no disadvantage (from a meleers point of view) in the 2, because I can now change my attack direction from camera face to character face and attack in any direction I want in a split second without having to worry about rotating the camera.

Again, it takes practice. I can tell you haven't given a controller much of a chance if you think sensitivity has to be increased that much.

Block behind you in 0.15 seconds.

And then target precisely within 2 pixels, 1.0 seconds later.

A mouse can do it because the variability of the movement input is much wider than the variability of a stick input (especially a thumb-stick). You can move the mouse 2mm or 10cm.

BTW you really cannot compare this game to a FPS. Of course a mouse + keyboard user would destroy a console user but this game has no where near the required accuracy and speed.

In PvE, sure.

PvP definitely does require more accuracy and speed but though there is a gap in that department between the two types of users it is not as great as you are making it out to be and it also really depends on your class.

....and here is the 2nd biggest problem I have with MMO's. Other people trying to tell you how to play.

Brings back memories to when I played WoW and I play with my left hand on the mouse and use the arrow keys to move around. Like most anyone that grew up playing PC games in the 80's off those big floppy C: drive Dos Disk we didn't have mouses. We used the arrow keys, and in that fashion when the mouse was introduced I still used the arrow keys just as I did in those games. By default I use the mouse with my left hand and arrow keys for movement.

Yet despite how I use my controller setup I used it well and most of the time was a superior player but still got "oh lol why are you using the arrow keys?", "still using the arrow keys to turn? your level 80 LOL" etc. etc.
Even though I was a seasoned dungeon tank and a PVP pro with 80K kills combined I still had to put up with people thinking they can control other players.

bottom line is play with what makes you feel comfortable.

I am right handed and that is exactly the reasoning why I use the mouse in my left hand. Yes, i could have used wasd but i preferred using something that was specifically made for movement (the arrow keys) and was actually lined up correctly and now im ambidextrous with the mouse and have my main hand in charge of the keys.

The only downfall to this was the lack of lefthanded gaming mice so I use ambidextrous mice which for the most part dont have as many programmable buttons.
