Why are people worried about being kicked from a 5man HM group. Just get some guildies together and make your own group...
The difference between Rogue / Warriors to me:
I would say it would come down to play style if you take stealth/dodge/evasion off the table.
As a warrior you know you are going to run into battle head on and kill stuff, using evasion / dodge as a warrior just a bonus no to get yourself killed so easy when you stand in front if your not tanking. and in PVP a warrior shouldn't be sneaking up on people or looking for the strategic kill.
A rogue on the other and in this game would be all about play style since most classes have dodge, back steps, rolls etc. you would have to stand them apart from warriors by allowing them to use many kinds of dirty fighting tactics, I woulds say slows, snares, stuns, blinds, poisons, traps, etc. not to mention attacks from behind have a higher hit/ crits and damage than any other class

I Agree with this. If they did not add new classes down the road, I wouldn't mind seeing them add a specialization feature to the already existing classes , that would be kind of like adding new classes :) like:
Archer:
Crossbow: Archer could specialize in Explosive arrows , long range traps( would not be able to single target as good as normal Archers, but could do more AoE damage )
Warrior:
Shadow (Rogue): Warrior gives up his big bulky swords and goes for daggers to sneak up do damage over time with poisons.
Lancer:
Jouster (FFxi LNC): Lancer gives up his shield and heavy armor to uses 2h Lance or spear to inflict bleed damage from outside the average monsters melee range. Giving his allies different buffs with each of his attackes. i.e attack speed , heath, acc, damage..
Beserker:
Brawler (Tank): Beserker drops his Giant Axe and takes on foes with his bar hands or fist weapons. His body his battle tested and skin and thick as steel. Disarms enemies with brute force, takes a beating for his allies while holding aggression from new by enemies with shouts and stomps. ( Think more of a Druid tank from WoW just relaying on pure HP boost and Parry enemy attacks)
Mystic: this is where I would use Carolius
Elemental Shifter. Becomes one with the 4 elements to fulfill different roles.
Earth elemental/Golem - tank
Fire elemental - melee dps
Air elemental - ranged dps
Water elemental - healer
Priest:
Aon: Priest gives up his healing arts for dark Aon powers making him the opposite of a priest. Damaging his enemies from the inside out.
Slayer:
Reaver ( DRK ffxi ) : Slayer sacrifices his agility and Greatsword and leather armor for heavy armor, elemental magic and a Scythe
Sorcerer: Really don't know what I would do with Sorcerer.....
Maybe a Barrier / Shield healer , or siphon life healer?
More classes would require more complexity out of this game. At it's current state, there is no need for any new classes. Nothing would significantly be improved if we had new classes to contend with. For example, extra hard content, HM Instances/Nexus, require fairly good players and gear. There may be an ideal party setup that is used for these instances, or it may take some amount of time, and a new class could introduce variety and speed. Until we have more content that requires more such variety then I think we are OK on classes.
Then there is the issue of specialization. Our classes, while being very different, are also very alike. There is not a huge dependence of one class on another until you are forced to party for instances, and only then you just need to make sure you have a tank and a healer. As far as I know, all damage is based on the same modifier so there is no difference between the damage a sorc does and that of a berserker. There are many layers of complexity that could be introduced that would increase class specialization. Monsters that are weak to magic or physical attacks, blunt or piercing damage, elemental strengths/weaknesses, and the list goes on.
Also, the addition of some type interplay between classes, a la skillchains/magic burst from ffxi, where specific skills of different classes interact with each other for greater effect. This could really help those classes that are feeling left out become top contributors in groups if the effects are desirable enough.
And finally, the addition of some type of class combination system, where you could pick a main class and level sub classes in order to pick up some additional skills that supplement the main skills. This would add complexity and variety to the current class system and the way the game is played in general.
Adding these things would greatly increase the way we approach the content already provided and would allow EME to focus on providing new content with greater depth, larger scale, better implementation, more engrossing lore, and sweeter lewt.

I am with AEnoch tho. It's nice to talk about what you would like to see and talk about " what If" of a game and it's future. I see what you are saying Tonbbery about speculations, it's like assuming and we all know what it means to assume something. Don't get me wrong, I love the game as it is, and if they did not add any new classes I would still love it and play it until the wheels fall off, I believe they did a great job with this game as is. It does have it's glitches and bugs but no more than any other game that I've played that had only been out for a little while.

I want to see this class in Tera

Yes an Ivy whip would be sweet!! even maxi chucks!!
Classes I would like to see in TERA:
Pet Class: ( similar to summoner (ffxi) Warlock (wow) ) I would like to see something with more pets or companion, not talking about the little mystic companion, big bad nasty companions that are life linked to the class. Since the combat system in this wouldn't really work for traditional pets in mmo's maybe have the class embody / transform in the pet so you are controlling their attacks. They would have to get pretty creative with this , but I think it would be cool.
Rogue : ( rogue in any mmo / rift) the other person was right, rogues aren't warriors and warriors aren't rogues. I TERA I think they could add another DW class like a rogue if they did it right, maybe have them wear cloth armor and focus more on attack speed procs and positional attacks ( head, back, side, legs ect..) or they could go another angle with rogues and make them like a class in ( Rift) the explosive rogues that focus on building up changes and attach bomb / explosives on targets.
Another Tank class: TERA has Sheild tanks ( Lancers ) and Evasion tanks ( Warriors ) so they would have to be creative with this. But I would like to see another class that could be a viable tank. I was a big fan of blink tank style ( ffxi ) so I would think they could make some sort of class that relies on magic to tank, proc shields that absorb damage, smoke, illusions to avoid damage.
Magic/Melee: I do think the game is heavy melee classes, but I am a huge fan of hybrid classes if you don't know me :) So combining melee attacks and magic are always my favorite. ( similar to DRK / RDM in ffxi ). So making a melee class that could be a monk style that uses blunt, wind, fight, ice, earth fight or attacks would be cool I think, even a staff as a weapon.
Ranged physical: many might say we have Archers for this, but you can not just stop there I would say, and I do believe archers get a damage reduction for being to far away. I would liek to see a class get a buff for being further than normal, a pure dps class that threw weapons like spears, javelins, bombs, ninja charkan, stars ect.
Ranged Magic: I do not consider a mystic ranged magic dps so that only leaves Sorcerers for me, I believe the scope of magic and ranged is so vast you can not cover it in on class. So I was thinking maybe instead of another mage type , maybe a ranged magic gunner that fires from a cannon or rifle, some fancy fist weapons. You would always do another mage type too that uses wands or books that had tottallyl different types of spells than a sorcerer.
I think that is all for now :) enough rambling :) but I would like to see classes using .
Gun/rifle
Whips!!!!!
Daggers
Fist Weapons
Scythes

I'll admit it, I'm a class [filtered] too. I enjoy this game allot and after playing my way thru the game, and seeing the different mobs that you fight, they really left the game wide open for different types of classes they can add. It's not because I get bored with the classes I play, I just like seeing the make up of parties and raids with allot of different jobs/races/classes combination. Makes it feel like you are a part of a vast world with different possibilities. I will be looking forward to next year and the introduction of new features, races and classes.
Hey everyone! A friend (phrostbyte) and I (Arc) recently just got this game and are looking for a guild to rock and roll with on the server. My friend is currently a level 11 Berserker. I just got the game yesterday so I'm still downloading the patch, but will be on this evening. I love playing with an active group of players so told my friend I would look around for a guild that fits us. I was not a big fan of the way the forum guild list / recruiting worked, so I decided to put a quick general application to see if any guilds were still recruiting at this point.
Both of us are almost 30yrs and veteran mmo-players. (I am married with small kids now, Phrost is single and can go crazy on this game if he wantsïŠ ). We are basically looking for a Casual/Social/Hardcore guild that is mature and organized and like to have fun. That understands people have jobs, families, school and other activities that prohibit them from playing all the time. A guild that is aimed at mature players that want to fully experience and excel at all aspects of the game ( pvp, pve, endgame, ect.) ( Currently playing about 5hrs+ per day, more on weekends)
Played every game since release ( 24hrs in ) I typically am a fast leveler and try to get to end game content as soon as possible. Phrost is a bit more casual but reliable and constant player.
My gaming history:
WoW - 7 years
FFXI - 5 years
FFXIV - 1 year
Rift - 1 years
AoC - 2 years
Swtor – Currently
Phrostbyte likes to play melee or raw DPS classes (DRK in FFXI). I generally like to play hybrid classes like shamans in WOW or DNC in FFXI. I generally prefer to lean towards dps or enfeebling/buffing type of play style or off-heals.
