Arcadax's Post History

In my experience the forum associated with any MMORPG is absolutely flooded with haters raging on and on about their impossibly hyped-up expectations of the game in question. No exceptions.

gamers these days are like sheep, they move from MMO to MMO, creating hype themselves, rush it, burn out on it, and then blame the developers. what did you expect? mmos are supposed to be about the journey, and the experience of interacting with the world and its mythos.

the concept of "end game" is completely retarded. there shouldnt have to be "end game" to cater to people, the majority of the content should come through leveling, and actually working to achieve a cap. if developers could learn this, instead of catering to average joe, we could finally rid of this misconception that MMOs should be about rushing to cap and having this so called end game.

you people bring it on yourselves, there is plenty to do, from leveling alts, maxing your gathering/crafting, doing dailies/rep farming, dueling people, hard modes, etc.

its the first month, and you expect it to have as much to do as an MMO that has been out for 2-3 years, you rushed to cap before the game even got a few days old, and gee. i wonder why youre bored. because you are narrowminded people who think the game starts at 60.

it starts at level 1, and ends at 60. having something to do at cap is just icing on the cake.

This is a great post and bears reposting. I don't get the concept of "endgame content." Doesn't the game end at endgame? :P I simply cannot imagine playing a game like this ALL THE WAY to lvl 60 (a time-consuming feat) turning around and going "well this game sucks." If I'm not having fun after 2 hours in any game I just stop playing.
It's hard for me to mention my opinion about Tera without first gushing about the amazing graphics. Just incredible, coming from Rift and The Old Republic, this one looks at least twice as good and runs much smoother somehow, even on a year old laptop not really designed for gaming. The art style is also quite striking.
Combat is also very entertaining, very action-oriented, feels fluid and polished.
Having said that the majority of the quests are remarkably lifeless. I get the whole "kill x monsters or collect x items" is in just about all MMOs but even the quest givers seem indifferent "Welcome to the farm, my livestock are getting killed, can you kill some devas?"
Not a whole lot in the way of background lore either, I still have no idea what my ultimate goal is right now...
Then again I am only lvl 19 so far and I can only comment on what I've seen. Overall though the look and feel of the game really appeals to me so I plan on sticking with it.

My male character of sorts...catman that is: Manxus

Pretty great, thanks. While I am not currently bored at work I am currently bored installing and updating before I can play Tera :/ I often get stuck at work doing nothing as well when things get slow and am glad you made this thread.
Nice pics guys! Great lookin' bunch :) Let's see if my crappy webcam image comes through...
I was recently drawn to Tera after watching several videos and trying out the demo. I could not believe how beautiful the game was so I had to sign up. Hi everyone! Just came from Rift and The Old Republic and decided I needed something new. I look foward to meeting everyone playing the game! If you have any server suggestions for a social roleplayer, I'd appreciate them. :)
