Arev's Post History

We won't get specialty vendors until vanarchs get elected, unfortunately. Yes, it sucks. Yes, we just have to deal with it.

You can always go back to TR if low level gear prices are a deal breaker for you, it will settle down in a couple months when the only demand for low level weapons is from people leveling alts. Although I don't know why people bother listing them for 900 gold, since a level 38 doesn't have that kind of money without getting lucky with drops from strongboxes. May as well just save your money for t13 & t14 fodder, anyway.

Why can't you PvP because you enjoy PvP?

You knew going into TERA that there was no gear dropping from PvP.
I wonder, if they called them goodie bags instead of glyph boxes, would people still be complaining?

He didn't get any red numbers after blocking a red-eye attack, which means it blocks at least as much as a zerker block, if not more.

The stam bar seems to go down very fast though. I'm willing to bet that a blocking warrior will lose stamina much more quickly than a lancer, thus making it still more viable to dodge for hard-hitting attacks.

Embarrassingly enough, I don't actually Know how much zerkers block for, only lancers >.>

Also, he was only getting hit for about ~10k by the same attack when he was out of stamina. I don't know if you will block damage proportional to the amount of stamina you have left, but it is something to keep in mind.
From the test realms, I assume? I hope they tweak the stamina costs/regen, while those may be good for DPS warriors it seems like it may not be good for tanks, depending on bosses' attack speeds and animations. It seemed like he was only gaining small amounts of stamina through his own attacks. Unfortunately on the matter of the block itself we can't really make any judgements until we see the actual numbers, just a "block success" doesn't really tell us anything.

Wait did u just say u wanted to go back to wow pvp cause tera's is boring?? Wow has thee most horrid pvp in any game made. unbalance to the extreme and easy mode if you want a challenge stay with tera. specially when they add more pvp in hopefully soon. games lacking now on release idk why but they are and this game i believe will get better if not atleast start a new type of future mmos. plus atleast its not easy mode to pvp in tera you have a challenge

@Fucc - No I don't want to go to wow because Tera is boring. I have not played Tera yet. I was just asking if the game was right for me (as I am very pvp oriented) . It's just a hard choice because the game Comes with that $50 price tag. I just spent like 1600 on my new laptop and don't really have cash to spend on a game I won't like.

If you won't try the game without knowing you'll like it there's this FREE DEMO that I posted in your other thread that you seemed to have ignored.

http://tera.enmasse.com/news/posts/try-tera-instantly-for-free
So I just read through the review and it seems like the only complaints he has are:

1. Only one starting area

---This becomes quite good later on in the games life for newer players because it means you are never the only person in the starting zone. Gives the game a better feel when you see a couple more players running around rather than be by yourself for the first 11 levels. It also takes 2 hours, 3 at most, so it really isn't that bad if you're rolling an alt either.

2. Quests are dull

---What mmo has OMG SO AMAZING questing other than TOR? I look back at other mmos that I have played and every single one has the exact same questing as Tera. Non-innovation in questing does not mean you take off 30%+ of the score. Maybe 10%, but yeesh.

3. The mobs are too easy

---The ony thing that gives me an idea on what level the reviewer got to was when he died at level 19 to a BAM, and that he did BoL at level 21. To this I have to say - do people really expect them to be thrown off a cliff regarding the difficulty level when they start at level 1? Sure every mob in the game could be the equivalent of Kelsaik, but people would quit after 30 minutes.

4. Uninteresting story

---I have to disagree, personally. The story is plenty interesting for an MMO. Of course it's not going to be as interesting to people as WoW or TOR, where they spent their childhood playing the games or watching the movies and the games have that previous experience and wonder to draw from and build the story off of.

5. Lack of launch content.

---While on launch there were only 2 realistic dungeons, we now have Nexus (however much people love to bash it), Kelsaik HM (people always seem to forget this), BT and FoK HM for gear, and ToT for glyphs. Four dungeons and an outdoor "raid," with more coming by the end of the summer.

While they are legitimate points, none of those scream to me "D GRADE"

Oh I forgot "some of the races are still creept though"

Really? They're only creepy because you look at them creepily. But I won't bother getting into this, it would just derail the thread.

And for the last part of this long post, I can't really get a base for what this reviewer likes in his games since he seems to have only done two other reviews for PCGamer, one that doesn't have a score and the other being a 65. Something to keep in mind, since certain reveiwers will always score higher whether they mean to or not. the line "the first 15 hours or so are insufferable" should show some of that, at least.
If I enjoy the game I'll play it. Why should I let some number a random magazine or review site bias my enjoyment of the game?

Hey, I got the last question. Thank Brian, you guys are doing a great job.

Asked about a mentoring system coming someday and he said it was definitely on their radar but it is something that is very hard to balance.

Cool

I can live with it taking a while but this is a feature that I would really really love to see. Being able to help your lower level guildies though BAM and instance quests would really help guilds that are trying to help new people.

While a mentoring system would be nice, you can already help them through BAMS and instances (unless the instance requires the quest to enter).
