ArtificalxSky's Post History

There is nothing more fun than joining hundreds of other players on a killing rampage across half a continent. The scale is epic, and the mobs are like the ocean's waves crashing against cliffs. It is quite an achievement in terms of gameplay and design idea. The feel is bar none.

However, the technical side of things is the complete opposite. I don't know how many players out there have awesome spec-tacular gaming rigs with 3-4+ cores running at 3.2+ ghz, but they are lucky. The great idea loses every shred of it's charm after demolishing the frame rate.

Without a playable frame rate, a lot of players are going to have to sit out on the Nexus raids. That is a tragedy.

In my own experience, I lowered everything down to preset one and was barely able to participate. I use an AMD II x2 220 (2.8 ghz) (which needs to be upgraded, especially now that Nexuses have begun) and a Radeon HD 6790, which can handle anything GPU-related that this game requires. I ran at 7-9 fps on preset one.

I could be completely wrong in assuming that the lag correlates to the specs though. Perhaps it was server lag instead?

But even though all of this was hampering me, I enjoyed it immensely. It turns out that my guild was in a GvG war with another (Prophecy vs Revolt) and we had to battle Revolt along with the Nexus monsters. Once I got into the flow of things and acclimated to severe frame stutter, I had a blast. I can only imagine how awesome it would be to play with a nice 20 -30 fps.

I have never played a game with elements of this scope. It had such an intensity which I can't describe. It gave me the chills. Seeing everyone moving together in a common direction towards the same goal had a profound impact on me. I can't wait to see it again.

This is the TL;DR (Not that you should skip any part of this amazingly entertaining post):

There is no room for incompetence.

P.S.

I don't know about the rest of you Lancers, but I love taking all the anti-Lancer stereotyping and breaking it in game! You should take this perspective too! It's almost like... the community has given you an opportunity to rise above "the rest" of the Lancers.

Just a different perspective! I'm having lots of fun. My random group members aren't complaining! ^^

I love the super attractive character models. Yay for Korea and their aesthetic sense!
The line of the line of the lance and the line of the tail are in conflict. Though the cross section you've created is nice and the tail does help fill the empty space in the bottom left of the picture, I feel as if the tail should perk up and follow the lance's line rather than droop away from it.

The wing design on the shield creates a really nice "counter movement", so to speak, away from the lance. Still, the only thing is the tail. (Try covering it up. I'm sure you've looked over this little detail a lot already; I guess it's just one of those things. ^^)

I love the sketch, otherwise I wouldn't have commented. She's very cute and her expression amuses me. Thanks for the piece! Looking forward to the finished product.

P.S. That lance is so huge...

Loose? Loose change, loose as a goose.

Lose? Lose choose whose who's use.

Loose != Lose.

Lololol, one of my pet peeves to.

Hey I have a question guys! Does the weapon skin run out after one use? or can you keep the skin and apply it to every weapon you find?

When speaking about a group of individuals it is the averaged qualities of the individuals which set the 'group qualities'.

So if most lancers are jerks then 'lancers are jerks' is the default, and you my friend would then be a nice lancer, which makes you better than most lancers. So see, its a way for you to feel awesome. When ever someone gives you a way to feel awesome, you should take it. Far too many people miss opportunities to be awesome and this accumulates into a feeling of unawesomeness, which some 'scientists' call depression.

Speaking of unawesomeness. Do you know why its unawesomeness instead of inawesomeness?

The reason is that un- means not when you put it in front of a word of germanic origin, and in- means not when you put it in front of a word of latin origin.

SO if you ever find yourself in a situation of not knowing whether to use un- or in-, just look up the etymology of the word you are going to place it in front of. If we get it from a romance language, in- is proper, if we get it from a germanic language, un- is proper.

I learned this just now while doing research to make this very post, and i was so pleased with my findings i decided to share them with you! Using this you can probably become even more awesome! Good luck!

Quoted for awesomeness and a fresh-perspective.
Well, for what it's worth, I look at these kinds of threads as guidelines for what not to do as a Lancer. I get in a group and ask myself, "What would a douche do according to the countless anti-Lancer threads in forums?"

Then I do the opposite! ^^

Mana - Serpentis Isle

Like that face, like a fashion model.

Agreed, this is the best in my opinion.

Bloom effects are off, so IDK how my character actually looks to most people.

CLAIRE PENDRAGON

Her eyes are amazing. The only thing that's off is her nose. It's turned up too much. Her mouth needs tweaking as well. Keep the eyes though, damn.
