So.........how about you get you full armor, but then your blocking and dodging is slowed down to compensate.
C'mon, less armor's there for a reason, maneuverability!
Each society/community has their own fashion sense, and I like it that way. If the fashion bugs you so much, pick another race/sex that don't suit your style, or perhaps another game if it's a game breaker. Female Amani appear to be what you should play.
Yeah, because male characters have to make the choice between wearing full armor and being slow or not and being fast.

Yeah a 30 minute lockout timer starts as soon as you enter. Don't know if the hard modes are longer.
