I wonder if you feel empowered by continuing to call people with a certain view as bigots -_-
As I mentioned before, I could really care less what people decide to RP just as long as their RP makes sense. I never shun people from RPing with me, just certain things I may not agree with and it's somewhat hard to go along with when my character has their own set of views as well.
My advice to any player existing as an Elin in the world of Tera, who wants to be involved in RP, is to not give a care about what pompous bigots have to say about how one should and should not RP their character.
She simply is your character, your creation, and your responsibility. Obviously, there are basic rules you should follow to keep RP civil, but none of them include how your character's personality should be, and I highly recommend viewing any comments fashioned in a way to suggest that just because your character is of a certain race, that they have certain limitations, as nothing but complete racist garbage, because that really is all it is. Racial backgrounds are reasonable to consider when constructing character personality, but it is just one of many factors and in no way should impose barriers on certain personality aspects. Any thought to the contrary is simply absurd.
If such people have a problem with your character's personality with those reasons, they are trash not worth your time. It would likely be best to find someone beyond such ill constructed thinking as they will only inhibit the growth and flow of your character and whatever story as a whole they are involved in. Whether you wish for your character to be extremely cutesy, dark, down to earth, or a combination of dominant qualities, is up to you, and you alone. The same can be said about such qualities as hobbies/past times, dreams/aspirations, fears/phobias, goals/pursuits, sex drive/intimacy, fashion preference, and so much more. Don't let anyone limit who your character is, but instead, let your imagination, creativity, and your own personal character interests be what guides you to how you make your character. Simply abide by the main rules of the RP server and you will be on good waters in terms to what is justified in the realm of RP.

Yeah RPers have a right to make their character how they want, but there has to be some kind of line drawn. I personally don't care how people decide to make their characters but there's lore to a game. No one is expected to have the same kind of background (Even though I can't count how many times I've RPed with the 'person who's parents were murdered' or 'the abandoned child' ) but sticking to RACE lore, is somewhat important. I get that the lore doesn't make a character's personality but it's going to get really annoying playing with people that decide to RP a cute, overly cheery, happy go lucky Elin, considering they are born with knowledge of the world around them and an instinct to 'go all or nothing for nature'.
People have to realize that to RP, you need to have a character that is interesting enough for other people to invest their time with and get a chance to know the character you wish to represent. 'Cute' Elin, will get old really fast.
Personally, My character is going to wonder if Elin's that act that way are putting on a show or genuinely have something mentally wrong with them and won't really care to let them know it. I'm sure I won't be the only one considering how many people actually voice concerns about Elins but if they can make it WORK for their character, then it'll be fine. Not everyone can pull off the cute [filtered].
For the people that want to RP that way and don't want a lot of grief over it, they'd probably be better off making their own guilds or joining ones that are light RP (at least in the lore respect)
I've healed in every single MMO I've ever played (WoW, FF11, Aion etc...) and while other games had a few skills that were fun to use and made healing fun (Shadow priest, Scholar, DPS Cleric etc...) I find healing in this so fun that I don't feel like I'm missing out on any type of game experience.
I tried priest out for a while and for some reason it didn't hit my 'satisfied' button. I decided to try mystic and see if it was just a little more fun and was blown away! The orbs pissed me off at first when I tried my hand at healing at first but you really need to think constantly when you play one. It was so much fun just dopping them, using a heal, maybe throwing a DoT.
I'm mainly just glad I don't have to sit still anymore when I want to heal >.>
Personally I like some players that pve in an RP server and don't RP too much, they're sometimes a nice break and can be a welcome change from certain rp heavy situations. The only thing i dont want to see is a huge amount of real life crap that has zero to do with the game or rp, then its just annoying.
Lore, in all honesty, is just a background for people to understand what they're getting into when they decide to RP. If you're going to RP a race that has a dark background and all other races consider 'dark' or 'off-putting' then you should try you're best to try and go along with that.
However, since it IS just a background and each race individual is different, you can't expect them to act the same all of the time. If I was to RP with an Elin, I would expect (at some point) dark humor, or something along the lines of their lore personality to shine through.
Rping with all Elins as dark people though would be boring and as mentioned before it's up to the player to decide when to fit certain elements together during an RP.
