I just recently updated to Windows 8. I backed up my copy of Tera so I wouldn't have to download it again. After the new OS was installed, I copied my backed up game folder to the new drive, and BANG! unable to download manifest. What I didn't realize was that when I copied my game folder to the new drive, it marked it as READ ONLY. After unchecking the READ ONLY checkbox and applying it to all the files and subfolders within, the game fired right up! Hope this helps :)

this worked for me, thanks =)

i have windows 7 though

Can you explain in depth what you did?

Go to where your Tera Online game folder is. Right-click on it and go to Properties. On the General tab, at the bottom under Attributes, uncheck the Read-only (Only applies to files in folder) check box and click the Apply button at the bottom right. A confirmation window will appear. Make sure that Apply changes to this folder, subfolders and files is selected and click OK. It will do its thing then click OK again to close out the Properties window. As an added suggestion, put a shortcut of the TERA-launcher on your desktop, and when you go to play, right-click and select Run as Administrator. Hope this helps :)

No no no...we are not going to have any whining about this class is more powerful than that class...let the devs decide what needs changing among classes...it's their job to tweak it...your job to play it...and no crying about it...every MMO I've ever played where some cry baby whines about this class compared to that class blah blah blah has ended up causing a very bad imbalance among all the classes...this game is just started, and I'm not going to have it ruined not even before it's gone live.

Instead of whining how unfair things are, suck it up and get better at playing the class. Use your imagination. Create inventive ways of utilizing what is there. I can guarantee you that if lightning struck your mother, the universe isn't going to appologize just because you're whining about how unfair life is.
