Bdunc's Post History

Assuming you are a good dps and can finish an LOT run in 20 minutes (from entering to killing the final boss) and assuming you take 5-10 minutes prep time between runs (charming, buffing, clearing inventory, etc) you can complete 1 cycle every 30 minutes. Assuming you drop 3 MES scrolls (avg price of 350ish = 1050) and sell all your gold drops (avg 200 gold) that's 1250 gold per LOT run under the best conditions. If an argon vitriol costs you 70,000 gold then you would have to farm LOT for 28 hours straight. Normal players can probably handle only 6 hours of LOT farming before burning themselves out which means that an average person with a relatively fast and consistent LOT run doing it for 6 hours a day will get enough gold for 1 vitriol every 5 days if all he did in game was do LOT.

In other words:

1 Argon Vitriol = Minimum 56 LOT runs
1 VM weapon = 3 vitriol = Minimum 170 LOT runs

The HP tick is Percent based so having a larger HP pool doesn't make a difference for the debuff itself. (if anything having a lower HP pool would be easier to keep your HP up since heals/pots are not % based).

But the HP pool is useful for taking the 40k hit in HM.

Having a premade group comes with many advantages:

1) You que with people you hand pick and KNOW that they are good and know what they are doing which in turn adds more experience to any raid you might be que'd in with.
2) People you do premades with usually have full conjunct....no brainer there!
3) People you made premades with are usually in your same guild and have voice communication (no typing!)
4) People you form premades with generally comprise of an ideal party (1 lancer, 1 mystic/priest, 3 dps) and you can all plan to run together as a STRONG 5 man group with the lancer coordinating pulls and the dps focusing on the lancer's target or focusing on the same target successfully eliminating them)
5) Que'ing is a lot faster in a 5 man premade and you know that after the BG is done you can invite them again and que right away which keeps wasted time to a minimum.

Now, given ALL that supporting evidence that proves premades are advantageous in a pvp environment WHY would I choose to solo que? Only reason I can see is that I'm lazy and don't give a damn. Que'ing in a premade doesn't make me worse than those who solo que because frankly I pull 30+ kills easily in a good premade with a coordinated lancer + mystic and when 1 sorcerer can wipe half the team in mid that just makes it easier for the rest of the people we're carrying to cap/do whatever they want to do.

If you want to win BG's then make a premade and don't rely on solo que'ing because solo que'ing is a last resort.
Or you can be completely wrong.

I did not see anyone claiming it was original anyway? so that's aside the point and does not add to your argument.

If people do not like the idea of STBF they can feel free to PVP us, and if someone dies because they fail to comply to our player ran PVP organization they are always welcome to bring their guild/friends/random people to overthrow us. OWPVP is all inclusive extending to any PVP which requires players to flag themselves and adding an element of policing certain "high value mobs" is not a new concept in any shape or form as this has been done in other games and is certainly more fun than safe-zone hopping in kanstria like half the VM players on this server do.

whatever generated wall of text that is, does this mean I no longer need a BAM permit to farm bams?

Mistaken, BAM permits are still needed on Mount Tyrannas
ASL had a GVG vs the Brazilian alliance of ~70 players. 17 of us vs two groups of 35 each. We got the jump on them and only had 1 casualty while getting 42 kills total. So yeah if you can handle the type of gvg's where 17 players can push out 70 and make them get summoned out then A S L is looking for you!

No one recorded it unfortunately. But hopefully there are some screenshots floating around.

I use 2 mutinous, 1 carving, 1 focused + 4 power zyrks for solo PVE stuff (and when its an easy instance and I just want to sit there and not worry about positioning myself)

I use 1 acrimonious, 1 carving, 1 focused, 1 savage + 4 power zyrks for MCHM (sometimes I change it up to forceful instead of carving).

I will never see the advantage of using a carving zyrk in place of a power zyrk. 8 Crit rate is pathetic! A carving scroll gives 3x amount of crit than fully equipped Pristine Carving Zyrks rofl.

And to everyone who claims their dps is better based on using carving zyrks over power zyrks I have two words for you: Observational Bias - just because you "think" you notice more crits doesn't mean it's due to your carving zyrks because the RNG for crits in this game are so drastic that at best with the most accurate statistical measurements and large pools of hits on different bosses will have a very large confidence interval.

I don't bother farming BAMs so I don't know if they actually follow THROUGH with it or not, but basically threatening any undergeared player with the promise to kill them if they're farming bams does not say "Respectful" it screams "Pay attention to me".

I mean, they can do what they want and I don't care, but I wouldn't say Respectful.

Respectful means not smack talking enemies we beat or not smack talking those who beat us. By your definition of respect you are trying to say that by killing players we are disrespecting them? By that logic everyone who PVP's is disrespecting whoever they are attacking regardless of whether they are undergeared or not. A level 60 is a lvl 60 regardless of what gear they have. Therefore there exists a difference between respecting your opponent and demolishing them in combat.

But, what you are saying with all due "respect" is screaming, "I'm a carebear, you shouldn't PVP anyone unless they have the same gear as you". Come on now, that's just a silly mentality to have on Mount tyrannas.

+12 PVE gear is better than victors for sure (properly rolled with back damage that is) but it is WAY too expensive and RNG sensitive than just +9 fraywind.

I recommend getting faction weapon/chest and using that for PVE (its free). Save all your gold to get fraywind and get that +9 so you can at least survive in BG's because if not you will be wrecked. The difference between PVE +12 gear and Fraywind +9 is pretty big but you still MIGHT get 1 shotted by those in +12 conjunct such as Zerker, sorc, archer. (As a sorc I can crit a +9 fraywind player for 80-100k behind damage with only red buff whereas PVE geared player I will hit for 130k easily but every other hit won't necessarily 1 shot). Anyway after your fraywind is +9 you can start saving for rings, earrings, necklace OR you can do daily quests from the various regions and use those accessories and start working on your conjunct gloves. Conjunct path of gearing out: Gloves, weapon, chest, boots. After you get your conjunct then you can upgrade your accessories to the ones you get from Bellicarium.

Fraywind +9 is ALWAYS better for PVP than any PVE gear other than Visionmaker. (exception is regent weapon with BACKDAMAGE ROLLS)

So if your primary goal is PVP then a rule of thumb is: spend least amount possible in PVE gear/RNG and invest in PVP gear. which means FREE faction gear for PVE.

If you like to spend a lot of your time in OWPVP, BG's, 3's then you will be quite content in ASL....just saying. Respectful PVP'ers who are competitive and aren't egotistical or narcissistic unlike some guilds.

ASL is not gear carried, we do better in conjunct than most people do in VM. PVP is about skill and not lucky large crits!
