Chilali's Post History

Most likely it's the 7 day promo, watch for an email to the address tied to your account (unless you are junk filtering them LOL)

Now where's the darn "opt out of our stupid desperate promotions" button, I've no desire to play this game, I won't be back because I am never touching another EM operated game again.
Ah thanks Catatonic.

I would expect that an account should continue to show up as "Active" in the time period before the "subscription expiration date" on the account.

I expect it would change to "cancelled" only when there is no manual renewal on or before that expiration date.

It did take two attempts before it showed up with a Renewal Type: "Manual" under Manage Subscriptions on the website, but once it did then EM immediately emailed that confirmation.
Even though I am still in the free 30 day period and had initially (optimistically) subscribed for one of the extended plans when I purchased the game, I was able to "Stop Automatic Renewal" as of May 16th.

I switched it to "Manual" renewal, which immediately prompted a direct email from En Masse stating:

"This email is to confirm that we have stopped automatic billing for your subscription. Your subscription will continue to be active until the expiration date listed below.

At that time, you will have to manually renew or your subscription will be cancelled."

The account is still active until the expiration date stated in the email, fortunately before I was ever billed a subscription fee, but it should be cancelled when I do not manually renew it.

Would not switching to "Manual" renewal end automatic billing and cancel the subscription if we don't renew as of the expiration date, as was stated in their email?

Most players angry over this won't post their displeasure here, there's too many arses calling them cry-babies even when they don't often complain. No, they'll just cancel and go play something else, and if the future Vanarchs running for election had any sense at all they'd step up and realize EM has set up to screw them too.

I'm not crying, I'm pissed. Trolls and idiots can trash me all they want for my opinion, tell me to go away, that's fine... but I'm entitled to my opinion. I liked this game, the combat is fun, but it's not that much fun to put up with EM.

EM shouldn't have messed with the Specialty Shops and Trainers at all. They should have left them alone until the elected Vanarchs took over the areas. Instead we're told it's up to the Vanarchs which ones will be returned, well... we know this, we aren't stupid, that's why we were going to vote. It actually seems improper for EM to prematurely interfere with access to something they've promised would be in the player's control from the decisions made by our elected Vanarchs.

The players running for Vanarch should be worried about EM's pre-election interference. They know their voters will want use those shops, they'd be stupid not to reinstate them if only to recover part of their 3000g entry fee with taxes. BUT...

With EM's interference, just how many regular players have decided to nerf EM right back and cancel their auto-renew over it? How many are going to renew their subscriptions after the elections? How many are going to be left to spend their gold in those shops and trainers within the areas these Vanarchs are elected? You won't know until after you've spent your 3000g, but what a hefty price to find out!

Lower level players are very likely going to pay for use of those shops, they don't have the best gear yet, but they also don't have access to higher level zones, so where's the demand and the tax income going to be? It was going to be where the players were questing, those who have become the most inconvenienced and pissed off at EM's interference over this, those who are are not so heavily invested in their characters to feel any great loss when they abandon them to play D3 or wait for GW2.

That said, if EM was going to close the shops and trainers using the excuse that it will be up to us to elect a Vanarch who will reinstate them, then following that logic they should have also removed PvP flags from all those areas on the PvP servers too. Fair is fair, if it's going to be up to the elected Vanarchs then they should have equally inconvenienced everyone over it.

I am more inclined to believe there is a problem with the code, that the controls the Vanarchs will have is being tested or there's an issue, because this stance EM has taken weeks before the election, then the reinstatement of shops/trainers overnight for only 12 hours with the removal again after a server maintenance does not follow logic of actions performed on purpose.

If access to these 'treats' are really meant to be controlled by the elected players, then wtf would EM interfere at all until the day they had to turn over that control?

It's not to make us miss it or want it more, any elected Vanarch with half a brain is going to NEED to turn them on to collect taxes to recover their investment and fund future campaigns.

That said, come June 4th, no Vanarch is going to be collecting any taxes off of me either. EM screwed up, they interfered, broke their promise that players would have control over these things, mislead, and I'm not one so inclined to be paying for that.

I really believe there are many more who feel the same way, yet have been bullied into silence and out of posting their feedback. Too bad, I don't think it's going to be the level 60s funding the shops and trainers tax collections, it was going to be those of us who are currently annoyed with EM for forcing us to endure the 2+ weeks of their illogical interference in our game progression.
Good question and great replies!

I started playing 1 week ago with a Slayer, who I got to 28. Then I held off it's progress to make a Mystic and a Berserker, who are now caught up to the Slayer. I plan to get a Priest and a Lancer caught up to them by next week too, if possible.

I'm hoping to try to keep them up together and compare my own progress playing on each of those classes, at least into the mid game. Playing with each one a bit will help me better understand the basic root skills of the class so I will have a little experience to help me decide on a "main" I'll want to invest the effort to take to 60.

I haven't gotten any high enough to decide yet, but so far the low game is really fun for all of them. My preferences so far are the skills of the Berserker, then the Mystic and Slayer. I've still yet to play the Lancer or Priest, so I might be changing my mind on that lineup next week /laughs

It'll take me longer to reach the 40s, 50s and 60s with a single character, but hopefully by the time I get there I will know which class my playstyle best fits and have a better understanding of how to compliment the other classes once I start grouping with them.

Thank you Eziel! Mysterium Sanctum was exactly the part of the zone quest chain I had somehow missed!

Now that I'm a little more confident with my level 24 skills I'll try to get into a BoL group as soon as possible to knock those quests out, but I feel a little less out of place now, thanky!

I sincerely appreciate your help!

Greetings,

I started playing very late Saturday/early Sunday and I started with a Slayer. I took every quest available, following where the Zone quest lines and Story quest lines took me.

I am currently 24 and I seem to have stumbled a bit in the quest trails. I am in Poporia starting Cliffs of Insanity Zone quests.

My question, Cliffs of Insanity all show as [Lvl25], did I miss a link to lead me to an appropriate Zone for [Lvl24] after the Celestial Hills [Lvl23] quests? Or am I in a "right" spot for the story? The quests are doable, but seem more difficult and challenging solo now.

I haven't done BoL from the Story line yet and it has skipped to Scruffy Kumas Herders. I've only soloed so far because I don't want to inflict my "noobness" upon a group of good folks while I'm still getting the hang of playing my character and learning the best use of my skills.

Should I go back to try to get BoL done with a group or just farm experience in the meantime? Do you think I missed a Zone quest link somehow and should have been led somewhere else?

I don't want to miss the lower level zone content on my first character so I would be grateful for any suggestions.

Thanks!

I just wanted to thank you for all of the reviews, advice and helpful guides you've posted on these forums.

I've been reading your reports on this game, unsure since I've not played another online game after WoW BC. You've all helped me make an informed choice that prompted me to get over my indecision to try this game.

I LOVE Tera! The combat is so much more fun than I expected. I can easily see myself playing this game for a long time, and likely too often haha...

Thanks again!
