They aren`t westernizing that game at all from what I read. It`s going to be the exact Korean port. Enchanting downgrading, booming, grindy, everything that people hate about Korean games will be in it..same with what people love of korean games.

I don`t think it`ll do very well here at all:/

Hmm last time I checked they did say they were going to leave the artwork/storyline alone, and the things that they will change is dungeon resets, drop rates, and the leveling mechanics in the game.

http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/09/13/blade-and-soul-is-headed-west/

So there is some changes going, but it's going on mostly for the things to make the game a smoother work for players here without the excessive grind and boring factor that puts one to sleep.

For the lynns everything about them is detailed and pretty good the designs in the clothing. I can spot Kim's Artwork at hand and he's done an excellent job in making all the characters in Blade and Soul come to life with their costumes too.

If only I knew the name of the guy who did the original elin artwork and portrait designs...I would have asked for his autograph. I love Korean Artwork and the artistic expression that goes with it. :(

Yes, please. Let's turn this thread into another censoring rant. Wait, no. Better idea. Stop beating a dead horse and let's instead consider the new events/changes/content. Interesting that there's talk of a halloween-themed instance. Curious if that entails a quest or changes in dungeon drops.

It's a good comparison.

The lynns aren't hidden at all(lol their right on the page) which means that they'll actually be part of the player-base for that game. Shame the elins haven't been done same here, its been more of the big-guy characters in trailers than all the races in Tera.

Yeah I wish I could draw like that! But no its from the BHS website. But at least it gives them an idea that they can still use the Elin but give her a more "tougher" "meaner" look if they don't want to use the cutesy version. If you look at the BHS site, they have recently added some of the very colorful illustrations (from the other races as well) mixed in with the more meaner/darker tones as well.

So it can be done.

Huh saw that on J-Tera promotions website. Regardless there's no more excuse for En-Masse Entertainment to continue to hide the elin and give them the crap treatment and throw it's players under a bus anymore (nor should have been one in the beginning. Alienating your fan-bases was a stupid thing to do).

Blade and Soul is coming out and they have lynns sitting right on the front page and involved in trailers. They do not "hide" their petite races like En-Masse does but then again they don't boast about westernizing aka chopping the game down to death either. They are part of the game, not excluded from it or only mentioned under "that will shall not be named".

Tera has been killed silly by this over-masculinity factor. Everything has to look like it must scream, or growl. Elins can't even be considered "feminine or cute" even the Mcdonaldfied icons on the forums look like they have the downs or something.

I played summoner's class. Would say it's the easiest class out of them all since it's dual-controlling both character and A.I (the spirit kitty). I'm not sure if that's the only summon they have now because the lyns before had summons from ink.

Force-Master was pretty fun too, lots of ice and fire combos. Blade-Master had a nice set of defense and offensive skills.

There was a built-in skill all classes where you could run across water, but it's been replaced with swimming.

then I remembered that B&S has three sliders dedicated to breasts...

Does that mean you can make a completely flat chested female out of the other races?

If so, that is really awesome. If not, what's the point of a boob slider?

Can change the sliders as much as you want. Breasts can go small (A-cup is the smallest i've seen) or mountain-like (almost like Queen's Blade)

Similar to AION as far as customization goes, BnS has a LOT of customization features for the body. And I mean a lot. A lot more than Tera's edit system.

And there will be no hiding of the petite race (Lynn) in this game. 1 or 2 outfits the lynns do wear something that look like bathing-suits (one with a coat) but the only ones who would complain of the cute styled outfits are oversensitive types or the ones who simply dislike manga/anime styled themes in an asian game.

All the outfits with the lynns are done very well and not a single detail has been left out. It doesn't have that censored look that the elins do and with the body customization the lynns can be given the same "thunder thighs" as the elins.

Combat is much faster and accelerates on combos. There's no animation locks for skills(yes you can jump while using attacks). No boring walls of giant quest text to read. Like a big cinematic.

Yes, it is the same artist. While some may dismiss his armor/clothing-designs as ridiculous, I love it to bits, and his work on B&S is one of the main reasons to look forward to the game in my opinion.

Agreed.

I love this Artist's style and i've picked up plenty of art-books featuring his works(Apple Volume 1).

The only ones who will claim the armors being "horrible" are the back-water 1950's puritan types whom, because they can't complain much about their locale Kahoots or sexy MTV Music Videos, find video-games an easier vendor despite M-rated titles being there for a reason.

Everything must be "E" or "T" or some retarded gender politics.
We'll wait and see.

As long as they don't kill the game to death in "Westernization" then it'll be an martial arts title looking forward to.

I've played the game already and I've enjoyed it so far. Let's just hope it doesn't loose it's flavor over here. :>

From Article:

"Bringing to life the fantasy style and signature character movement made popular by the classic martial arts adventure films House of Flying Daggers and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Blade & Soul embraces the essence of historic martial arts combat, set in a beautiful world inspired by the stunning art of renowned artist Hyung-Tae Kim, Team Bloodlust's Blade & Soul lead artist. Kim's strong international manga following and his unique style of blending Japanese anime and Korean art will expand Blade & Soul's appeal to a broad range of audiences. "

Is this the same artist who did Manga Carta games?

Depends. Role-Playing on Tera would be so tedious and meaningless and plain boring.

I am a dreamer and a thinker! I need room to navigate!
Rofl. Never say never.

F2P is a high possibility for Tera. K-Tera already has a F2P server.

The fact remains is that Tera has bombed in all countries. What is the point of a continuous subscription if a game is dying? From eleven to three servers is not a healthy sign for a game that was launched only in 4 months worth of time.

P2P does not scare off hackers/bug abusers. World of Warcraft is P2P and still has it's bots/hackers. There was farm abuse of Vanarch system in Tera even with P2P.

F2P is the last chance stand for games doing bad or the later final option.
Real fans of Tera would have tried to preserve the game as much as possible, in it's originality as possible. Because those fans realize that originality is much more important than common-place generics found in most other mmo's.

It's not like everyday you get to play a M-rated mmo(perhaps mainly because of the blood and corspes) game like Tera besides the cheap and redundant over-kills of generic bog-hog T-rated MMO's spreaded out there in the MMO Kingdom of stale 9-year old marketing and re-ran ideas (with some exceptions).

Just a lot of the game has been altered destroying a lot of what Tera was, and it's turning the game into something it's not, (or in some cases "worse" than it's original. Like the grind) It's taking away the uniqueness of Tera, and turning it into some generic World of Warcraft wannabe knock-off lame game.

Though sometimes I wonder why if some out there hate a certain character race in the game so much from (their own personal preferences), why do they bother playing the game to began with and kill the enjoyment for those who don't mind or like their chosen race?
