^ Game wont be fixed. Wasnt fixed in Korea and it died. Why ppl bother trying to change the game through forum posts .... The game is what it is.. if you dont like it leave, like everyone else... dont put up with [filtered] balance.. useless classes.. just leave.. find something worth your time. I am just liquidating all my assets in tera and then plan on giving them to some new player before i quit.
Id say sorc is worse 1v1 than berserker.

most archer skills are not aim assisted. Only poison arrow, restraining arrow are. If poison arrow was not aim assisted no archer would ever land a hit b/c the cast time locks you in animation and chosen directon.
its actually not easy to land a aim assist hit when your attack path is a straight line. Warriors for example hardly have to face a targets general direction, and slayers can hit 360 degrees most of the time.
if you're going to take off aim assist then you'd have to make the hit radius at least as large as slayers distant blade. basically just spaming in a general direction.
Just be glad aim assist is there b/c if it was as easy to land hits on archer as warriors and slayers then they'd be seriously OP.
All archers skills use aim assist, include the worst RA and PA - because this skills can one shoot.
Problem is it is too easy to aim as archer. The worst is fact if archer is pro, there is no way to dodge what I described. Melee is other story - they need come close and them radius is exactly as animation. That is how melee weapon work in real - cut everything in range. But usually arrows does not follow target :) The most important you can dodge all melee skills without invincibility frames or block what put them in disadvantage.
Slayers distant blade work exactly as archers skills - that is aim assist. Just animation is more noticeable. Looks OP? That is how archer work, that is how all skills with aim assist work.
I do not see anything positive here. Some skills use aim assist, other not. Classes what have more this kind of skills have advantage. Game is described as no-target, while use tools like this. Game is promoted as game where need dodge attacks while some attack are not possible to dodge.
We may be talking about 2 different things when we say "aim assist".
I'll clarify my understanding:
The ability used will land on the target if the hotkey for the skill is pressed while your aiming recticle is positioned on the target's hitbox.
Aim Assist imo is a terrible label for this, and I think it got that label from people misunderstanding the game mechanics.
Abilities with a "cast time" must have a point in time where the line of fire is determined. In TERA it is the instant the hotkey is pressed. However, the cast time must be implemented into a "delay" or "period of immobilization" before the ability finishes its animation and the damage done to the target. The target is fully mobile and may move out of the original line of fire determined by the instant the ability hotkey is pressed. This causes the ranged attack animation to seem to "curve" as if it was "aim assisted" even though the player actually set off the ability with the enemy target directy in the line of fire.
This is impossibe for instant skills with no cast time such as Penetrating Shot, Radiant Arrow, Auto attack, Final Salvo, Rapid Fire, and all other instant archer abilities. For these the arrow animation is shown instantly after the hotkey is pressed (or released in the case of charged shots) and the damage is done in that same instant. If the aiming recticle is not on the target hitbox at that instant, the attack will miss.
It is essentially the same for the "aim assisted" (or "casting time" abilities as i call them) in that if the initial line of fire is not on the targets hitbox then the ability will miss even if you are aiming directly at the target at the time the animation completes as the arrow is released. Therefore it IS DODGEABLE if you know to dodge at the time the hotkey is pressed and not at the end of the animation as if you think you're dodging an actual arrow that is utilizing the laws of physics, which I can assure you it is certainly not.
Also, another way to avoid the "casting time" ability even AFTER the line of fire is determined is jus running out of the abilities range. If you do this, you will not recieve the damage b/c you still have to be in range for the damage to calculate. So this so called "aim assist" is actually a disadvantage when compared to the alternative "instant cast abilities".
The same is true for warrior and slayer abilites, they are also "aim assisted" if they have a cast time. If you use a skill when the target is in your attack radius, for example a 30 degree cone in front of you it will still hit them even if they are directly behind you and no longer in the attack radius. The only way they can escape is to run out of your melee range which is a few meters away 360 degrees around you,...I hit mobs and player all the time with slayer melee skills even when my "casting time" sword swipe animation completely misses.
Also comparing my lvl 53 slayer's distant blade to my 60 archer's arrow skill, the difference is like trying to hit something with a cannon ball on slayer, but using a needle on archer. the line of fire is much thicker on distant blade.
having a thicker line of fire is more deserving of the label "aim assist" than a delay in damage with the possibility of the target out-ranging + an animation root, I call that a penalty.
Edit: Btw I've been hit by the melee skill "heart thrust" mid-dodge on archer, so u cant dodge all melee skills without an invicibility dodge like warrior and slayers have.
