You can have your own server and once you've gotten your end-game gear fully enchanted we'll wipe it so that the next person coming in will be on equal footing. ;)

No they do not need to wipe the servers. Why should I loose everything I have worked for just so new people can be on an equal footing?

There IS an advantage to not mating - population control in a species.
Humans are communal creatures and often prefer groups. If you are the leader of your tribe/household, it's easier to feed 20 people than it is to feed 50 people.
If there's more of 1 species, that species takes over and nature has to even things out. Disease is more likely to spread when there's more of 1 species.

Those are just 2 examples, but I'd be happy to provide more.

Comfort =/= Evolutionary fitness. It is your logic that is stupid.
Population is a comfort issue, not an evolutionary one.
