Danarchy's Post History

Just curious how many people have had this happen on low pop servers. I joined a guild when I first started the game a month or so ago. Leveled and quested with them off and on in that time. About a week ago suddenly there were only two or three people online and they were as stupefied as me. Then this weekend about half the guild quit at some point. I am guessing they moved somewhere that has more people.

I get the strong feeling I missed a post on a forum somewhere else >< Guess I should have found the guild website before they all dissapeared hehe.
I can give you some re-assurance. Over the weekend I was having a hell of a time on a particular BAM with my slayer (40). After a few deaths I got pissed off and killed it with my Zerk (36) while only taking about 20% of my health in damage. Zerks are awesome for solo play IMHO, especially after I learned about the mana return on block glyph this weekend (duh!).

I think the majority of the "ez-mode" stuff you hear about slayers has to do with dungeon raiding and bosses. A slayer is reactive enough to get out of most of the boss special moves and get right back in and doing damage again quickly. Zerk has a big issue with "bouncy" style bosses that constantly move in and out of range. So basically if you live a normal life and play a normal amount by the time you get to endgame and start doing dungeons the zerk buffs should be in place. It is probably a good time to level a zerk actually as class buffs usually equal flavor of the month shortly after.
"You're talking about leveling and questing. That means absolutely nothing. The problem lies with end game. Where slayers and numerous other classes outdamage a beserker. Then with class mechanics and boss movements can completely negate all damage you do.

And FYI to who posted earlier about moves not landing. Sometimes when you use flatten/TS it will hit them directly but do absolutely nothing. So you can see the frustration we get especially on a constantly moving target.

You would think they would maybe patch in class buffs as first priority but I guess thats not important enough. "

Actually I only really care about leveling and questing. Once I hit endgame I will worry about that, but for now I don't care about end game dungeons or pvp. By the time I actually get to end game it will have changed quite a bit.
Sometimes I think it would be allot smarter for game forums to be split into pre-cap and post-cap boards as I think we'd have quite a bit less "n00b vs l33t" static.

Anyways, from a noob point of view, leveling is quite a bit easier on my slayer because of the much more limited down time. I had not thought of cycloning before the mobs bunch up to maximize dps on each mob. That actually makes allot of sense. With my slayer I run in wide circles to get the mobs in a tight group for a quick whirlwind, a type of kiting I used to do in EQ1 with my druid.

I learned something from a forum, I am pretty sure that's a sign of the apocalypse.
My "main" is a slayer, I would say after a couple nights of switching between the two of them the biggest advantage I see is the slayer uses way less mana per fight. For my zerk I have to "left mouse attack" at least one full set every other group. My slayer can go continuously with just his crystal regens keeping his mana up.
On the other side my slayer gets absolutely destroyed by BAM's due to my slow reaction speed (personal first world problem) whereas my zerk simply stuffs his axe in the ground and regens mana as they do their super attacks.

Dungeon groups are a whole other thing. My zerker does well with a lancer (gear competition aside) because there is less movement. When I am grouped with a warrior tank though even I want to kick me from the group! Seems like I spend the majority of my non-trash time charging up an attack, releasing it pointlessly into the ground as the boss has moved, and slogging back into range.

Not sure on pvp, I have not hit 60 on any toons yet and honestly do not know how to even get into pvp at this point =P
I did get the mount, and sold about 200g in crystals total. No weapon skins, no rub rims (which is honestly what I was after for my popo). I have so many of those freaking charms im fairly certain I will never run out.

I know at least one other person that got the mount on my server, and unlike me, she farmed the living hell out of the eggs over the weekend.

To be nice I wont tell you how many eggs I opened total ;)
The lancer I run with normally carries tons of potions with her and scrolls. I am fairly certain she just buys them off the broker as I have never seen her harvest anything so there must be a market out there.
I know she swears by the mana elixers and heart potions anyways.
I started as a zerker and really had no issues with him outside of dungeon bosses and simply not being able to get my charged attacks off before the $*(!@ thing jump/charged/skittered away.

As far as just leveling though, e.g. quests etc, how bad are zerkers right now? I sort of gave up on mine after I ran him through the first dungeon a couple of times, but I really do enjoy the class outside of that. I just don't want to invest too much time into him and end up hitting a wall like I did with warrior.
My priest is a Popo. I was trying to decide what race to make him when I decided to try healing and my cat happened to jump into my lap and, as usually, promptly stand on my keyboard to see what I was doing. So I made a popori that looks as close to him as possible (20ish pound tabby/bobcat mix) and named him after my cat. With the deepest voice possible of course cause that's how I imagine he would talk if he chose to.

I'm not sure if he is pleased or not with the in game replica, but I haven't had a severe surprise crotch clawing since so I think he is.
Honestly it's annoying for me and I do work 8-5. By the time I hit the gym, eat dinner, kiss the girlfriend, do the dishes, etc it's already after 9. Most of my gaming is done between when the girlfriend goes to sleep and my eyes hurt too much to stare at a screen anymore. E.g. 9-12.

I think time limits are not a good idea on events. Especially in the states allot of people are picking up extra shifts or working weird hours just to get by, and this is slightly annoying.

4th tomorrow though! I will get some egg hunting in between neighbors coming over with solemn faces, staring at my leg, and thanking me for my service...
Actually maybe I'll go camping.
So far in my mid 30's I am not seeing anything that looks usable. In fact I was checking out the next armor I can make and its lower stats than what I am already wearing and not usable for a couple levels. Even with enchanted bonuses im not sure it is worth while.
