Destian's Post History

I was under the distinct impression that player hitboxes were all the same, which is why sometimes elin characters would get hit by an attack even though it looked like they weren't in its area of effect?

Whoops, I meant....

5. Did they fix weapon ranges, since some races had dramatically better weapon range than others?
Some more:

5. How are PvP hitboxes right now? I heard a new patch was going to completely normalize everything. Did this ever happen?
1. Was the enchanting system ever fixed so that we have some form of metered progress instead of rolling the dice with the same odds on try #1 as we do on try #50?

2. How are BGs? Is it possible to do nothing but PvP for gear and ignore the PvE aspect of this game?

3. Have they increased the leveling speed any, making leveling low DPS classes easier?

4. What does the political system look like now?

I think scrolls were a good idea and were fine as they were.

This other stuff? Not so much...
The sad part is that it's easy to ensure that P2W situations never arise...

1. Make all of the best gear in the game BoP drops from dungeons.

2. Add optional goldsinks for vanity items like mounts, costumes, weapon costumes, etc.. A vendor that sells "Magnificent Eggs" that have a small chance to drop the aforementioned at 1K a pop would be perfect.

I came back to check on how Tera was doing and I'm sad to see what it's devolved into...
Signed.

THE RNG IS NOT A PROBLEM AND IS NOT BROKEN.

It's a problem if EME wants to retain subs...

They'll sell more chronoscrolls in the short run (which is the purpose of the RNG enchanting system, FYI), but in the long run, more players will quit when they grow tired of watching RL money go up in smoke as the RNG devours mountains of their gold in exchange for little to nothing in return.

Pretend you are on a WoW weekly raid, grinding for your 2% change to get an endgame item. When the raid ends and you dont get anything (or worse, when you see someone you carried, roll and win the item over you) just suck it up and come back next week.

...Except that you earn valor points just for killing bosses that can be used to buy endgame gear that's on par with what drops in raids.

Ask the Tera players who have done 30+ endgame dungeons and never even seen an enigmatic drop how great the system is. :P

The main problem is currently, that's all there is to do at end-game. Logically you can't base the game's entire future off content that's present after 3 months since it's release in NA. Logically, they will add more stuff to do then enchanting. Another key component of Korean MMOs is having patience, if you don't have that either please go away;) This way you can return months from now and everything is different.

I agree that this is a problem, but again, all enchanting does it place an artificial roadblock between players and progress that rewards at random instead of based upon personal skill.

Also, you can grind money and buy all the endgame gear you'll ever need, which means you'll never even need to play the endgame dungeons. It also means that a botting program is superior to an actual human player at progressing through the endgame.

Having each dungeon drop BoP tokens (which are already in the game) which you then use to buy endgame gear makes the most sense.

I am pretty sure those people left for bigger reasons then a RNG system, if not then they shouldn't play ANY Korean MMOs. It's a staple for these games, if you don't approve go elsewhere. I have fun with it like I did when I spent 4-6g on the worse one.

I'd blame them except for the fact that EME bragged up and down about how much they were "westernizing" this game.

Grindy, RMT-encouraging, RNG-based progression is the polar opposite of "westernization".

The token system for metered progression is pretty much the accepted norm for the western MMO market.

WoW has it. SWTOR has it. I believe Rift has it.

Again, people would rather run out of things to do, quit and then come back when they add more content than get fed up with RNG enchanting and quit out of frustration to never play the game again.
